Let's see the new ford GT do that. I will say it again. For screwed up going with a V6 in that thing.

You didnt think that comment through did you? A TTV6 can make gobs of power as seen in the GTR. We dont know what they could do with a fully built FGT V6, but there is no reason to believe that you couldn't put a 2500+hp engine into one and run it deep into the 200mph speeds. Stock for stock the new FGT is faster than the old one so why couldn't it be as fast?

Can anyone tell me the story on the tires for this car? Do they get replaced after each run? Or how many runs are they good for? I've seen a tire come apart at 200 and it ain't good.....

From Jalopnik,

Hoosier R7, Hoosier doesn't recommend running these speeds

2 runs per set

Tons of tires laying around with less than 5 miles on them

He ordered 40 sets for this event

Crazy to hear. A few years back I spoke with M2K driver Patrick (owns PSI motorsports) who at the time drove this same FGT to 273 and he was on about tires.
He said tires wins mile racing. Said there were only 1 or 2 different tires being produced they can run with the forces/heat being so great. They were working on having custom tires made for the car.

I asked him why the TT Lambo's haven't been competitive and brought up tires/trans/gearing has kept them from the 270mph and up area, but this was probably back in 2016

If only they were 315/30/18s and 345/30/19s...I'd buy them all and have enough for 3 years of tracking. haha

Mentioned gearing earlier in the thread. UGR has also said that themselves.

Plus you need custom tires if they opened up their gearing. The Lambo's are still pulling like a freight train at 259 in the 1/2. No doubt they can do 300 in the mile.

I don't doubt they can with the power but I wonder about aerodynamic stability at those speeds. The FGT was tested by Ford to be stable at 300mph. Not sure how they tested it but I remember hearing that when they first started going deep into the 200s.

No idea, UGR had to add the Performante rear spoiler to gain traction when they started making 3k+. I am sure they have something to help.

Okay. Then why speculate

With that logic I’m sure the 2500hp vipers can run 300 too
Same with the 2500 HP GTR’s

You have a solid point. For example, you cant say one car can run 8s because it has more power than a car that does run 8s. It can only do it when it actually does it. There are so many variables with cars that you cant assume anything. Look at the Demon for example... lol j/k ;)
