Any halfway competent mechanic should be able to do that install if they can follow instructions. I wouldn't be too concerned about taking it to a Shelby/Mustang specialist.

I'm not gonna lie and say its the easiest thing in the world, but its not really that hard either. If I didnt have back issues and fat, it would have been easier for me.
But I made a video outlining my process doing mine. It may help you gain some desire to work on your car yourself:

Looking to get the Gen 2 MGW shifter installed in my 2012 GT500. Don’t have the space to do it at home and wondering if anyone has recommendations for a shop to do the work in the Bay Area preferably north bay?

I just installed the MGW 2nd gen on my 2013. I am a self proclaimed mechanic, but its really not that bad if your half handy with a wrench and follow the youtube directions.

Those clips were a PITA at least the first one. If you/friend have access to a lift, I'd say that's the ticket. Makes the install a breeze. The stock shifter ball came off with a rubber strap wrench I never ever used from Craftsman for a lot of years until this job lol. They aren't joking when they say that's on tight.

Hardest part of the install is removing those damn metal pin flip clips. Think I spent like an hour trying to get them removed.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one. First one on the passenger side only took me a few minutes, then the bitch on the drivers side fought with me for about an hour.

I do not have a MGW 2 shifter, but I did watch their video when I re&re my stock shifter to do the solid support arm bushings.

Their video is very good with lots of great info on how to do this job, I would not hesitate to attempt it if you are at all mechanically inclined.

Yes, those support pins can be a bitch, I actually had no issue taking them out but putting them back in for my stock shifter was a major PITA since the support arms are 1 piece with the shifter. I'm sure installing the MGW 2 with the separate billet arms should be easier (ALA you can reach those pins).
