I'm ripping into my valve cover gaskets and replacing them. Any tips or things to watch out for?

By the way, the ****ing top cowl cover broke on me while i was taking it off. Where are you getting for a replacement, since they're not available anymore?

I managed to pull both VC without removing the brake booster, or dripping motor etc. Wasn't super easy, but I didn't find it all that difficult.
When reinstalling, use a couple dabs of gasket maker on the donut gaskets and VC gasket to keep them in place.

If you are talking about the cowl piece at the base of the windshield, American Muscle sells them, and there is also a carbon fiber one available on eBay usually from Carbon Driven. I think they are only a few $$ more actually

Thank you guys for the tips and the recommendations on the cowl. I'll look into them.

Any problems with your cowl's installation or any other problems ?

I don't think I had to remove it.

I took out adjustable clutch cable and hydroboost and brake reservoir and steering reservoir and hoses to the hydroboost...so much easier that way...yeah my strut brace came out too.
"Just" be patient.

I appreciate the advice and video on that. That nut on the fender well came in handy.

surprisingly, trying to find a video on the 4.6l 32v dohc valve cover gasket removal is a pain the ass.

If you haven't finished the gasket job yet, now is the time to consider painting the Valve covers.

Ok guys I’m stuck trying to take the right hand valve cover off. I thought the left hand valve cover was the trouble maker lol.

The rear heater hoses are clearing the valve cover, but the ac lines and fuel lines are getting in the

way. What’s the fix to this problem? Weasel the valve cover a certain way, OR even taking the fuel lines off?

What is all needed to relieve the pressure off the fuel lines? Other than taking the gas cap off and relieving the rest of the pressure from the fuel rail valve?
