Hi all,
99’ cobra, pretty much stock except for springs and shocks.

Odometer was intermittently working. Pulled cluster out and re-soldered the points, odometer working properly again. Went to drive the car and now the Speedo does not work. Everything else works including RPM and odometer, just not the Speedo. Cruise control also works.

Anyone have this issue befor? Any fix for it? I can’t find anything ELS wrong with the cluster.

Is there a way to check the signal going into the cluster? The stepper motor might have just picked that time to die.

Is the stepper motor the metal motor that turns the Speedo with the 4 prongs that push into the circuit board? If so, I put a 9v battery to it and made it move. I tried to conduct a continuity test, but did not get a signal on the prongs that the white plug from the gauge cluster goes to.

Has no one had this issue? I took apart my cluster again today but can't find anything wrong? Can I buy a new stepper motor??

Thanks for any help.

It's not something I've ever dealt with. It seems more common in the S197 world. You should be able to order the stepper motor somewhere online. Probably even on Ebay.
