So i got into coyotes when they first came out but went back to messing with the 4v mods so i havent kept an eye on the values of the 5.0. Long story short there is a 2011 5.0 with 30k miles track package premium package brembos intake exhaust etc good looking car. I originally looked at it because it was 15k but i found out it holds a rebuilt title so i passed. Now dude is at 11k and i kinda wouldn't mind seeing it in the driveway for that. He bought it like that and has no idea why its rebuilt, in person it looks great i figure i can run a car fax if i needed to. My question is. Os it worth it? I cant see it going down to much? When theese first came out that motor was a hot item to come across now its been out for a bit but whats the drive train worth my plans would be to drive but if it was parted would it fall way short? I dont really need this but im getting the itch.... let me know your opinions!

I haven't watched values. 11k doesn't sound bad at all. I bought mine (2,400 miles on it) in early 13' for a deal several states away and have been having a blast, driving it a few thousand miles per year and slowly marching it into the 8's. All I can say is, it's been a blast and the first car I've owned that I can see myself keeping long term.

In the past I owned three beautiful foxes (mid-late 90's), the last of which ended up in several magazines. Then it was a run of Terminators in the mid 2000's until 2012. All magazine quality builds. When I saw how potent the 5.0 was with the 6R80 (stock converter) and a VMP TVS, I was smitten. The badge on the fender gets me every time. Best choice I've ever made. It is virtually maintenance free and such a blast to drive.

I know this isn't 100% what you are looking for, but hopefully it spurrs you on to take the dive.

For $11k, you could do worse.
I have a 2011 convertible GT with 21k miles....its worth way more in smile factor for me....
I only manage to put about 500 miles a year on it anymore....

Was it possibly a flooded car from Houston??

You should be able to find out from the title or VIN!!
So i did run the vin it says unspecified damage i think it was in atlanta 2014 i didnt see any major floods for them but i didnt look to hard i havent seen a cars history thats unspecified kinda wierd they know it was damaged but not why... it does show it passed California inspection but thats all i found out besides its other history but nothing besides basic stuff

Check your insurance. I work for one of the big ones and we will not offer comp and collision on a salvage or rebuilt title.

Also, how long has the current owner had the car for and how many miles has he himself put on it? If it is only a short time, id be concerned. You can get this all on a carfax.

Do i need to disclose that to them? I called today for a qote gave them the vin # and they didnt say anything im with progressive but i was going to change soon because of how much my current policy is. I hadnt heard about comp collision not able to be added.

Honestly, every company is different with how they underwrite, so I cant speak for all. Insurance companies only need the vin, they dont get a copy of the title. I would add the car before you officially have the title signed over. Worse comes to worse you find out right then and there before you actually purchase it. You could also send customer service a general email telling them you are looking at several different cars and ask them if they insure vehicles that are salvaged.

If it's clean and you plan to keep it long term, i say do it.

The only negative effect a salvage or rebuilt title has on an otherwise physically great vehicle is resale value.

I would not touch it with a ten-foot pole I would spend a little more money and get one with a clean title you could end up regretting that purchase

Which was the one of my main concerns if i bought it and decided to move on it sounds like i could sell fairly easy? I got the insurers phone number im going to call im really hoping the thing was just stolen at one point

If for some reason you can't sell it, you could easily part that out and make money.

I bet you you could get it for 10k.

Check under the mats and remove rear seat and look for water lines. If it was in a flood you can fond water marks. Check trunk floor where spare tires is.

when you go to sell a rebuilt/salvage it will take a LONG time....I say pass and find a clean title one (even if it needs a little work )

Yea, im not really looking for a quick flip. The wife just spun a bearing in her car i think i might pick this thing up and i can sell her car when its fixed if i fall in love with the 5.0. Really my plan would be to keep it for years and put some miles on it. If then its too hard to sell id prob part it. I guess the good thing about theese and the terminators is the parts are always sought after. But it would be a shame its a gorgeous car in really good shape. I did call the insurance company that covered the loss "access insurance company " out of atlanta and wouldnt you know the universe doesnt want me to know what happened either as that company has gone out of buisness
