Is there more behind that question?

I used to be the safety team lead at my last job- we were instructed to evaluate whether an ambulance/ER visit was necessary, or if an injury was minor enough to warrant an UrgentCare or clinic visit. Err on the side of caution.

I brought a guy who had what appeared to be a minor laceration to a clinic and they immediately sent us to the hospital as the bone was splintered. Another guy lacerated his wrist, sprayed blood everywhere, and the EMTs were able to handle everything without an ER visit.

I also had a total false alarm at an ER one time. Totally depends on the circumstances.

Hum I been to the hospital over 60 times from last week of July 98 to Aug 2010, due to being a brittle diabetic. When I was first admitted my blood sugar was 1250. Yes that is 5 times higher than what it takes to kill you, and I also been taken in on as low as 15 with a whole lot of 500 to 800's inbetween on those trips.

There are too many variables to answer this. The easiest thing is when in doubt hit an urgent care quickly and let them know you’re not sure if you need to be seen at an ER.

Essentially, my BP and heart rate are all over the ****ing place. Slightly nauseous and unable to eat much. Intermittent stabbing gut pain. I really don't want to waste time at the hospital

I'm not a doctor, but I've played one once or twice.

How long has this been going on? Appendicitis? Kidney Stones?

Web MD says it's fatal.

Almost never. Literally dont remember the last time i went. Im 41 and have issues beginning to rack up so i need to schedule a visit.

The major one is 5 year old a torn or stretched ACL in my right knee that gives me fits every time i try to play BBALL with my son. I pretzled my leg running pick up games at the local gym about 5 years ago and never had it checked out. I couldnt walk for a week after i first injured it.

I irritated it nasty 2 nights ago running sprints with my boys bball team and i can hardly walk today.

Sucks getting old!

I basically never go to hospitals. The local prompt care is my hospital. If they tell me it's bad enough to go, I'll hitch a ride in an ambulance, and go. Otherwise, I ain't going near one.

I’d start with an urgen care at the very least and not consult an online forum but that’s just me.
