HF, that tension level sounds about right. As mentioned....they really don't stretch so caution must be used on initial setup. I know member Rambro is posting that he thinks his RPM belt "killed" his alternator and now he's also lost a metco idler....not sure what happened there, but be careful. You want the least amount of tension possible while not exhibiting any belt slip.

I've not had any issues in 2 years now, same belt. Same size I ran before with standard Gates (751). I think that whipple adjustable tensioner is a good item with the RPM giving you the most adjustability instead of just "hoping" the traditional snub idler is going to work for a given size.

Intervention302 probably has the most time with that belt.....he was the one that prompted me to try one two years ago. Maybe he'll chime in and give a long term update.....

Thanks for chiming in brother. I've been doing a lot of reading about the RPM belt lately and I've been keeping my eye on it for the past couple years.

Figured I would give it a try, everything I've read by you and others has stated the tensioner load is critical so I'll be keeping a close eye on that. I have the Metco double bearing idlers so I'll make sure they're all tight while I have the belt off.

I will be selling the aem hat complete, i hope to remove it this weekend . Has 4500 miles or so on it.
Didn't you also buy some spare aem 320e? A couple years ago Justin at Fore said aem changed design so the new style doesn't fit in their fuel hat. I bought a spare set from him.

Side note that others are mentioning the RPM belt. I have one, but can't get myself to run it.

Thinking of changing the vert's top color to black. How difficult of a job would this be to install myself, or should I just take it up the ass and pay $1000+ for installation?

I think I'm pretty good at working on cars. Rebuilding engines, swapping suspension, etc. When the time came to do the top on the wife's 06 GT I happily dropped it off at the upholstery shop and picked it up all done. From what I've seen it's a royal pain to get done correctly.

How much was it?

I was about to purchase some G Force half-shafts, but they cost roughly the same amount of a possible estimation of replacing the convertible top. The car already makes a shit ton of power, but I'm greedy and want more, and in the nearby future will be getting the car tuned for E85, and upgrade my injectors.

But my convertible top color bothers me. Black top is the only way to go IMO.

Ugh. Decisions, decisions...

Post a current picture of your car with the said top in question.

I've done a lot of work, but I'm not sure I want to tackle installing a convertible top. I have a friend that is determined to change his on his own. I may stop by and help. Who knows, it may not be as complicated as it looks. I only know one way to find out.

I think it was around $1400. This was back in 2012 I think. And we upgraded from the vinyl to cloth top.
