Drove mine to work today since doing the upholstery and carpet kit. The new seat foam sure is like sitting on a cloud.....

See my OEM front seat thread for more details!

Yeah they were Weld Rts wheels but I had them made to fit the IRS, they were 15X9.33 with 4.5 bs so they stuck out a little far when I switched to the SRA so now I went with 15x10.33 with 6.5 bs and also went with the single beadlock.

Very nice. You starting resto on that 89 this year? Or later? can’t remember.

I have already purchased most of the parts over the last few years (sale buys). My plan has been to have a car project once all the kids are gone and my youngest goes off to college this fall. So, to answer your question... in the next year or two.

Any of you fellas running the RPM belts are you going a size up in length?
I have run two different RPM belts on my set ups. I think C6ZHombre might have a write up or something. Its important to make sure your tensioner has room to move. You dont want to be maxing it out because these belts don't stretch much and they can snap.

Thanks for the info. I checked my tensioner and the block is already on the looser side (more to the left) so I'm gonna try the same size belt.

HF, that tension level sounds about right. As mentioned....they really don't stretch so caution must be used on initial setup. I know member Rambro is posting that he thinks his RPM belt "killed" his alternator and now he's also lost a metco idler....not sure what happened there, but be careful. You want the least amount of tension possible while not exhibiting any belt slip.

I've not had any issues in 2 years now, same belt. Same size I ran before with standard Gates (751). I think that whipple adjustable tensioner is a good item with the RPM giving you the most adjustability instead of just "hoping" the traditional snub idler is going to work for a given size.

Intervention302 probably has the most time with that belt.....he was the one that prompted me to try one two years ago. Maybe he'll chime in and give a long term update.....
