I wish that I had just one of my grandfather's guns. I don't even own a photo of either grandfather. My dad sold everything of value he owned due to addiction.

I'm a sentimental person, and I tend to place value on things in regard to those I love and respect. The memories provided by the things I have mean a lot more to me than they would to others.

Some of my friends were mortified when I sold some nice rifles and shotguns that belonged to my dad and granddad years ago, but if I don't shoot a gun I sell it. In fact I sold that Colt above to my best friend, but ended up buying it back from him a year later. It is not that "nice" of Colt in that the slide to frame fit is sloppy, as they were 25 years ago (and even now), but the polished flats are pretty to my eye, has a flat top slide that I like, and it shoots as good as it needs to.

I appreciate sentimental value, but at the end of the day they were all just new guns at one point.

Newest addition. Shikari 155 in .45-70. Can finally put a check by single shot rifle on my list. This will kick like a mofo as light as it is.

Thanks. He said he was going to tuck it away and not shoot it, to which I replied, "PFFFT. It ain't no collector grade 1911! It just a pretty pistol that I fixed up that belonged to your granddad with the same name."

I had the slide dovetail cut by Novaks to replace the GI sights, and I cut the frame tangs myself to fit a Wilson upswept beavertail, replacing the old duckbill grip safety. Also has a Wilson thumb safety I fit, and a S&A magwell I installed.

I told him to plan to shoot the snot out of it.

He's driving up from school to shoot a match with me tomorrow. He asked if I'd have this pistol with me. I said, "Nope, when you graduate in May you get it."
Nice mods. Your son will love his upcoming gift in May. Smart to encourage him (strongly!) to shoot the snot out of it vs. making it is display queen. LOL. It IS a good looking pistol. How long has he been shooting?

Marion, Indiana (Fox 5 NY) - A man accidentally shot himself in the penis early Thursday, police said.

Police in Marion, Indiana say Mark Anthony Jones, 46, was carrying a 9mm handgun in his waist band when it began to slip. He reached down to adjust the gun and it fired.

The bullet entered just above his penis and exited his scrotum, police said. Police were called to the emergency room of Marion General Hospital to take the report on the accidental shooting.

Thanks Bob. I was pleased with how it turned out. It has been my guinea pig for 1911 smithing since Colts of that era aren't particularly known for anything but being rattly. He's been shooting about three years. He and my nephew are shooting a pistol match with me at noon today. They are both finishing school this spring.

Wound up grabbing a shockwave Blade locally for cheap for now and put an eotech I had on the vector. Now I just need warmer weather to get out and shoot. I’m picking up another “ toy” this week when t arrives, and I have one more gun in the works that I’ve been interested in for a while, but I’m waiting for them to be in stock because they get imported. Once I get these next two guns I’m going to pump my brakes for a little bit haha.

I am pretty excited I have always wanted an AUG. Here is my new Steyr 40th anniversary STG 77!

I am a bit confused though, the 40TH anniversary was supposed to be limited to 400 units with serial numbers starting with STG77001. This one has matching serial numbers on everything that is over 400... Anyone have ideas?

My FFL sent me a photo of this today. Finally came in and I’m excited for it even though I own a few M1a’s

20 rounds of .308, 16" barrel, pistol grip, and red dot. You are now very well equipped for urban warfare as a result from civil unrest or an apocalypse. Safe up about 500 rounds of good combat ammo and some spare mags and your good lol!

Thanks man. I have been a fan of the 2011 for awhile now. I didn't think that I could do better than my CZ Tactical Sport Orange, but this is an upgrade.

A TS Orange and an Atlas? Wow man can't do much better than that for a range/target gun! That's two guns I contemplate. I love my CZ Custom Shadow Target. It makes me want to get another nice CZ like the TS Orange, CZ Custom CTS, or a CZ Custom Bullsport variant. But I think I need to experience a 2011 too.
