8 track days on fronts and 4 track days on rear (plus a few good burn outs at the drag strip)

Yea, to me thats an expensive tire for 4-8 track days haha. Are you running stock brake pads?

Stock pads. Fronts lasted 8 track days. Rear might make it another couple.

SRF Brake Fluid

Track alignment

I get a deal from a local Goodyear, but racing maintenance for 8-10 track days per year adds up. I was actually happy they lasted as long as they did.

SCCA TNiA is designed for novice drivers and first timers, obviously in the correct "novice" group.

In your experience with TNiA, how many sessions of in-car instruction do new drivers get, and then how do those drivers advance through the different run groups?

No, they no longer allow passengers. The coupon code works unlimitedly.

VIR will likely fill up quickly, so don't wait too long.

I disagree with you and the organizers in my region are extremely fast to flag anyone that violates a rule or move them down. There are numerous articles in magazines like Grassroots Motorsports that recommend this program. SCCA TNiA is designed for novice drivers and first timers, obviously in the correct "novice" group.

No passengers?! Man that's a bummer. One of my favorite parts of the experience is taking my friends/family for rides

Hey man, I get it. You have 12,000 miles on track. I'm sure everyone seems inexperienced to you. This program is designed to get inexperienced drivers on track safely, so eventually they can get to your level.

From what I read the CF-temp is pretty good in the Zl1, coupled with the huge size and cooling so I gues Im not too suprised that they work well ha. Is it easy to trigger abs when the tires are hot? Next step slicks, aero and DTC-70'S! and theeeeen, a real race car hehe

It was two very simple questions, because honestly I don't know: How many sessions of in-car instruction do newbies receive, and what's the process for advancement through the levels?

I replace the pads at 60% original thickness. The front pads lasted 8 track days and the rears will last 10ish.

You are placed according to experience.
The novice group has the following before going on a hot track:
1. Group discussion on the basics, safety.
2. Track lapping session with a pace car.
3. Download meetings after every session.

Advancement is based on experience (self assessment) and you may be moved up or down based on your performance on track.

OK, this jives with my experience with TNiA drivers who show up at other events and self-select into advanced run groups, because OF COURSE they're advanced, they drive a fast car and they feel good doing it, what else is there to it, right? Which is why I stand by my original comment: Anyone who wants to get on track and get the *most* out of their cars (e.g. not have to wonder why they're getting their Hellcat's poo pushed in by a N/A miata) should look to any number of organizations who offer quality track time with a focus on instruction and not just the track time.

I'm glad this thread created this level of interest. Ultimately, if new people don't enter the sport, it will die. "Go get a race car and a race license" is a huge barrier to entry for people that just want to try a HPDE.

I agree, I had a great time at PBIR track this year with TNIA. I like the format. i am also interested in an incar instructor as well to make my way into advanced.

novice group has a very wide range of drivers

I am considering the Gingerman, and I will go as a novice. I have done well at tracks, but I have seen what guys with decent seat time can do. Best time I ever had was being behind a good driver and following his line.

We were slaying the mountains this weekend and I think my trans is leaking now. Gotta get that figured out now before I hit one of these. I have another to swap in if need be, but wanted to see if I could get 3rd gear from grinding first.
