so I've read plenty about what rear tires to get but I haven't seen much talk about what people run on the front. What tires are you using? I have 2012 gt500 with the PP and 19" front rims. My rears are MT street S/S in 305/35r20.

No real track use on the car and it's just driven on nice sunny days. Ive been looking at nitto nt555 g2's possibly. Let me know what you guys have

Ran 305/35/20 Nitto G2's in the rear and they weren't bad but if you only drive on sunny days and rain/cold isn't a concern then I would look at something like a Michelin PS4's or SC2's.

I am running this exact setup and it is way better than the stock crap.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 in a 275-40-19. I’ve ran those and 275-40-20 for the last 2 years and love them. Economical, ride well, last well and handle the wet stuff when you get caught.
I’ve a 2011 GT500 with the PP.

Front tires are honestly gonna be moot if you drive around on ET Streets. You wont be able to turn worth a damn, so a nice front tire with good turn in is pointless.

I have noticed a bit of sway in the rear end after changing from the nitto 555R's.

I decided on the Fire hawk Indy 500's as I got a good price on them.

Been running 555 G2 for about a year now (street only) and they are a solid value, but can get squirrelly quick (wet or cold). I prefer the Continentals, but the G2's were an economical choice at the time.

Hey barspen, can you elaborate on the G2's, how cold and wet are we talking?
I just got a set and I intend to daily my car with some road course duty. Have you tried them on the track?

I’m running the 555 G2 all around on stock sizes PP car. I don’t drive the car that hard in the curves or drive it much but it is worlds better than the F1’s.

Yea that is likely because you went a little taller and the the ET streets are softer sidewall. Front tire isnt going to help that much though I dont think. Im gonna find out here soon as I have 305/35/20 ET Street SS coming in this week and running my regular 555's up front

Nitto nt555 g2 in the front and am pleased, I drive the car daily and rain or shine these work well. Have heard it said that they are not the best for cold climate but i live in Florida so not an issue for me.

I live in AZ, so 'cold' around here is in the 50's. I notice some rear wheel spin with temps in the mid-50's...much more pronounced then the Connis, but better than the OEM GYs. The 555G2's are very drivable, but any aggressive move (punch it on a ramp, quick pass, etc) and I feel them break loose even with some mild power-add on's for my '11. Same goes for when we see rain.

I haven't tracked the G2s. Once I moved to a stickier NT01, I cant imagine going back to a street tire for HPDE. Its really limits how aggressive you turn-in, etc. Plus, I get a lot more mileage out of the street set now that I don't rip them up on a road course.

I’m running 305 35 20 NT555Rs out back and NT555 G2s our front rides hooks pretty well. Fine in rain I DD my car in everything but snow. Handles cold weather as well no issues. Don’t drive like a tard if it’s cold or wet you’ll be fine.

Hmmm, I'm still a newbie so...
I'll work my way up to the NT01 eventually but for now we'll see how the G2s do. Thanx man.

If you do enough HPDE you will get a separate setup of rim\tires just for the track (i resisted as long as I could)...Let the garage clean-out begin :)
