Do It! Only mods I've don't to my '12 was to swap the tail lights and rear rotors to '13/14. Besides, if you don't like it, you can always go back, and resale the tail lights for what you paid (assuming you buy them used).

I agree these 13/14 LED tails look great but yeah, these are pricy!

INSTEAD: I'm putting my $$$ towards cooling mods:

13/14 Ford Performance Supercharger Intercooler
13/14 OE Single Fan Assembly
Lower Heat Exchanger [UNDECIDED AFCO 2-pass/VMP/Steeda]

.................................................................................................................

I'm actually thinking of going with these from American Muscle:

Raxiom Mustang Vector V2 LED Tail Lights 405839 (10-12 All)

Surely one could find these taillights easily and cheap at a car junkyard. Not a mod for me as I’m desiring to keep my ‘12 authentic. Bet Ford will be redesigning them again shortly to up their aesthetics game.

Authentic vs aesthetic? My OEM tails are taking residence in the attic while I drive it. Keeping authenticity in hopes of preserving collectibility years down the road is an exercise in futility. Keep your old parts if your trying to hedge inflation over depreciation. I won't be around to see it.

I actually don't like the 13-14 enough to swap out my 10-12 style. I'm in the minority on that one

Too new. Part recyclers know what these are worth.

I may have gone with those vector V2s if I didnt find my 13-14s when I did. I much prefer the 13-14, but the price and look is just right. The original vectors looked like shit though if you ask me.

Collectibility is not my interest at all as I too will have crossed-over before the decades it will take for this or most any other car to become coveted again. I do know that I appreciate seeing classics preserved to look how they were produced a lot more than aesthetically modified. The GT500 aesthetic that I dig the most occurs when I turn the key. Everything else doesn’t matter very much.

New member here, thought I would share the route I took when upgrading the tail lights on my 2010 GT500.
Purchased the Raxion LED tail lights and could not be happier. They are a perfect fit and at $400 at least $200 cheaper than OEM 2013-2014 tail lights.
Sequential turn signal, pure white LED light when reversing. Note that Raxion makes two versions of these LED lights, I personally prefer the version I got as the LED light bars are longer and a closer look to the 2015+ Lights. And hard to tell in pics but they do have the grooves between the light bars like the 2015+ ones do.

I’m considering the V2 instead of 13/14, but they’re currently sold out

I kept going back and forth between them after seeing the pics above but ended up grabbing a set of 13/14 tails for 620 shipped yesterday.

I like that the v2s dont have to have the gap filler piece.

Dude, I waited literally like 2 months for AM to restock the conversion trim. I know many guys run without the trim but that kind of shit bugs me on my own cars haha.

I really dig the V2s and I think, FINALLY, us 10-12 guys finally have a solid option for tails. I genuinely hope these do last the test of time.

Yeah the 75 for the filler pieces is a complete rip off. but I wouldnt be able to leave the gaps.
