Hey guys

Been awhile since I've been on here, figured maybe someone could help me with this question. Anyone attempted to restore a front chin spoiler and re-dye it themselves? My stepdad just purchased an 04. The front spoiler is in overall great shape just a couple of scratches and a had faded. I just can't see paying 500 dollars for a new one. Anyone have any pointers? Also what dye did you use?

People have had success sanding down the spoiler to remove the scratches and then painting it with plastic bumper paint.

Rustoleum makes an automotive trim and bumper paint that works great. Scuff the chin with a Scotchbright pad dipped in a bucket of water and Dawn dish soap. That will rough things up without removing the texture. It will also degrease the part. I like to wash plastic several times to ensure nothing is left behind.

Spray the part with Bullydog adhesion promtor, then finish with the trim paint. Follow the instructions and the chin will look brand new.
