I think when the time comes for me to move away from SCT it'll be time for a stand alone. Flex fuel, knock sensors, etc. Those sound like good things to me.

Yeah down the road I want a bigger blower and return set up. The local place I use and like now uses HPTuners. A stand alone thing would be cool too. I believe @cj428mach uses a mongoose stand alone or some sort.

I think his still uses the stock ECU. It's just a different way of tuning. I'm thinking of something like Malcolm was setting up. I don't remember which company he was using. I'd have to dig up the thread. But I remember he was having to run multiple harnesses to keep the stock dash. Which is something I'd want to do.

I'm running the stock ecu and I use either a mongoose cable or my quarter horse chip to tune it.

Malcolm is running a Megasquirt 3, he sent me a link to a facebook page showing that a Megasquirt Plug n Play ecu is in beta testing for our cars. The megasquirt can operate the stock gauges, but will fit in place of the stock ecu. You should just have to hook up a vacuum/boost hose and a wideband and then begin tuning.

I have a Megasquirt PNP on my street rod controlling a 351C and I love it, it would be very hard to turn down a PNP Megasquirt option.

That's good to hear. I really want to keep the stock gauges.

Didn't touch mine as usual but have a new project in the garage for awhile. Wrapped up a clutch swap on a friends 03 satin silver car and over the weekend anither friend dropped off his red fire coupe for some upgrades. Car had a half ass return system so it's all getting replaced with a full fore return with ID1700's and top it off a vmp 2.65. Once this is done I plan to give mine some attention.

A mega squirt would be cool to run. I may have to look into that

Holy ****!!! It happened again LOL..........

I'm not used to this as I don't drive my Cobra's that much.

Last night I was driving home after visiting my brother in the hospital (He's fine. Had some minor surgery). I'm driving home on a street called Montana. It's 3 lanes and also a highway (good distances between lights). I was in the slow lane and driving slow (Hell Honda's and SUVs were passing me). As I'm driving a guy in a box style Chevy pick-up truck with wide tires out back and skinny's up front revvs me as he drives by.

I noticed he slowed down to kind of "wait" for me. However, by that time I'm making a right in to Mickey D's. I'm hungry and need some cheeseburgers, not a race LMAO!!!

It was dark as hell too when he rolled up on me. Guess he seen COBRA on the rear bumper and wanted to run. Sounded like he had a pretty healthy motor too. Possibly a cammed 350 or 383 stroker.

I just think it's funny as hell how when someone sees a Terminator they give the ole revv call and want to run. Guess the Terminator is still the standard by which all others are judged LMAO!!!!!

Having my DD in the shop has given me a different experience by driving my Cobra Vert more lol :D..............

When I went to Palm Springs for the show I was cruising down the 10 with my son behind me. A Charger passes us and suddenly slows down and starts doing the rev thing at me. At first I wasn't going to bite, but then figured hell with it. I dropped it to 3rd and punched it. It was so bad I thought he didn't know to go. He caught back up and started doing the same thing. So I down shifted and waited for him to go this time. I heard him kick down so I nailed it. This time I let it hang out a little more and proceeded to put bus lengths on him. After I slowed back down he passed waving at me. I gave him the double honk. I'm pretty sure it was an R/T though. I never left my buddies SRT8 that bad.

LOL, if I wasn't going to Mickey D's I probably would have run him Bob. I enjoy a good race. He just happened to catch me when I was arriving at my destination.

I still think it's funny how a Terminator gets other drivers excited. Even this morning I was driving to work, spiritedly (when I could), and a guy in a Ford Focus was tailing me trying to keep up LOL.

I love driving my Cobra!!!! So, much damn fun!!!!

And it doesn't seem to matter what they're driving. I've had BMW drivers see I have a Cobra and try to keep up. Of course there were a couple douchebags trying to run in traffic.

I always have a bunch if ricers and trucks trying to get me to run them on the street. I never waste the gas. Looking to run a new Corvette or hellcat with people who can drive. I ran a hellcat last summer and he just smoked the tires.... Wasn't even close.

I get honks revs people hanging there head out of the car and talking to me at stop lights almost everytime I take it out. Lol
It's a popular car
