I was offered a 2019 GT350R at MSRP that I can order.
The local dealer won an R lottery and already put in an order.
I really want to change the body color and exterior package (definitely black roof, debating stripes) and also need to know a timeframe to make some other changes to my current vehicles.
So, anyone know the timeframe for 2019 R builds?
I know they used to hold production during the winter due to tire cracking.
Any input appreciated.

@R-CODE
Message already sent.
Sales manager guy I talked to didn’t know about not building Rs during the winter, but did know they had a regular 350 order that was already picked up to build.
He’s checking to see if they can change the color package on Monday and was going to ask about R production.
I’d prefer to wait as I’m in no rush.

Thx man, that was my assumption. But you know what they say about that.
They’re getting back to me tomorrow. My GT500 is a sterling grey blue stripes, they ordered magnetic with black stripes. Sterling and magnetic are close, so part of me says blue stripes on magnetic with the R pins would be a nice alternative to the GT500.

All R’s look good, but Magnetic with low gloss black stripes with red pinstripes is awesome!

Pretty sour deal, GM wanted to do MSRP but dealership owner says he researched it and the market is $15k over! WTF? Also said they asked and said they couldn’t change the order. So they’d take 5k over with a deposit.
I told him not even a consideration, I’m out. I told him to check again into the order status and if it could be changed, let me know.
Typical dealer games, I wish they wouldn’t have wasted my time.

Yeah man, I don’t have time for games. Sales guy said GM might even sell at MSRP on the owners day off. I’m not interested in any part of that mess.
Plus no way I’m spending that coin on a car not ordered exactly the way I want.
Consolidation prize—finish my Teal Cobra Coyote swap now as planned and wait for new GT500 next year. No complaints here.

That’s right.

Trying to get a $15k ADM when the 500 is right around the corner is laughable.

Sorry to hear that the dealer is playing games. They should continue their research and see that R’s are in fact popping up at MSRP. I think the days of ADM on any GT350 are over now that the GT500 is looming. Can’t wait to see the games dealers play with that car.

Finishing your coyote swap is thumbs up. Waiting until the new 500 comes out to avoid dealer sleaziness is like waiting for Congress to stop spending money next year. Not only will they continue, it progressively gets worse and worse.

Thanks man, I just finished a parts list for it tonight. Going to skip the IRS swap this year so I can enjoy it sooner. I’m having Maximum Motorsports give me their plan for a comfortable STREET ONLY deal; front suspension this year, only a possible rear spring change but full rear IRS swap and matching suspension next year.
I also agree to a point on the dealerships, but I personally have found respectable dealers and they are the ones who will have my business now and in the future.
It really shouldn’t be difficult—I want to order a special vehicle to my specs at MSRP. Win-win for everyone.

I didn't order the R, but I just got a VIN this morning for my 2019 GT350. I hope this information helps with predicting a more accurate timeline for the 2019 R builds.

I received my VIN and production week last week for my 2019 GT350. Later this week I should get a production day. Won't arrive until (estimated) end of April or first week in May. Damn! Will probably not have it for Shelbyfest!

What exactly are the changes from the 18 350R to the 19 350R? Besides paint choices.

Interior is dead sexy on the 2019 R, lots more red, plus the carbon fiber interior option.
If you use the online Ford builder you’ll see the new R seats and red premium accents.
Not sure on any other changes
