honestly, I think its one of those modern Japanese cultural things. Japan always seems to have an affinity for things that should clash VERY hard with each other. Like Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock with the theme of live action animal mascot kids entertainment. 2 things that should not even be remotely put together and in Japan its put together like its no thang.

But try and give a server or waitress a tip in Japan and they'll look at you like you just cursed out their grandparents and fingerbanged their mother.

Japan... bizarre but awesome at the same time.
