Was just ten years ago for me. Meet up Saturday nights, race til Caffeine and Octane started at 6am Sunday morning. Stop for some badass breakfast on the way, go home and sleep.

Ahhhhh yes

I miss working on my great grandparents farm. Small dairy farm, up at 4 AM to milk the cows. There was a lot of manual labor and at one point, kept three gardens on the farm. Hard work every day, complicated by the weather most days - smoking hot, freezing cold, rain... I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

So ****ing what? That's got to be the worst reason I've ever heard for getting into a relationship.

Not everyone has any easy time getting out and meeting people. What am I going to do, go to a bar and strike up a conversation with some random people I don't know? I ****ing hate small talk with the fury of 1000 suns. I'm an introvert, so that's my nature.

It's a catch-22 for me. I don't have any friends around here because I don't go out. I don't go out because I don't have any friends. People are completely loony nowadays. You want people who are comfortable being alone to put effort into meeting them?

EDIT: Rant off. Back to things we miss, sorry.

I agree.

I’ve lived in 11 states in 6 years. I have one friend and her and her wife always have something going on.

So that’s why I sit home and drink.. because if I go out to a restaurant/ bar.. I’ll drink.

I live in a tiny town where there ain’t shit to do. Plus I work 365 days a year

Sorry, but I never made it past this part.

So....her and her wife....have you by chance asked them if they have any interest in children? If it's a yes, I think there may be an opportunity there for you to fill a need, help out your friends and have some after work stuff to do. A win/win, if you will. I don't mean this in any creepy or disgusting way. It's just that I'll bet it's hard for girls to decide on how to find and apply the necessary other half.

Just a thought...

I miss rugby and bleeding beside my best friends. Luckily we had our time and were champions together but I miss it like crazy. I miss being irresponsible and young. I miss my Grandparents on both sides, I had to do a portion of my Grandfather's eulogy last year; brutal. That being said I wouldn't change having my children and watching them growing up; I just want them to be better then I ever could be.

I say this not to make fun of you but only as a life lesson.

“Those who eat alone, die alone”.
I have no witty response to this. Reminds me of a picture and caption my grandparents had next to their dinner table in Long Island and then in Florida where they relocated:

"A crust that's shared is finer food than a banquet served in solitude."

Yeah, I do spinning (stationary bike spinning). I actually have a professional spinning bike being delivered on Thursday, donated by my daughter who has 20 of them in her fitness studio. I'll sign up for the Spin-TV program for inspiration and leading. Up to now I've been going to her studio but the classes are mostly around 5:15 AM and that's just too early for me. :)

I do distance walking, too, but now it's too cold and the walking path in town is covered with snow/ice. I'll be back out there in the Spring.

That’s great Bob - hadn’t you said you can’t jog anymore because of your hip? Spinning sounds like a great way for you to keep things moving.

I miss system link halo 1. Multiple TVs, everyone together talking shit for HOURS. That was like 15 years ago.

I would give a good chunk of money to play Friday night football and have everyone over for a sleepover/halo 1 fest on Saturday.

I miss my ex, but I just got a better scope.

Honestly, I miss my Grandfather. He taught me to shoot, how to read game sign, how to throw a punch, and how to take one. I love and miss my Dad, but he didn't have the time that Grandpa did.
