So if and when my stock TVS sells I'm thinking of going to a Gen3 TVS instead of a Gen2R. I just wanted to hear from you guys that have them on your 13/14 GT500.
What T/B are you running?
What pulley are you running? I'm thinking I'll do a 2.5 upper since I run MS100 full time.
Who did your tune and are you happy with it.

I heard the Gen 2r is more than adequate. However, I went with the Gen 3. Only running a 3.0 pulley and twin 65mm TB. Tuned by VMP. Gonna changed to a VMP 160 TB and JLT 148mm.
How much boost are you seeing? I would be running the exact same setup as you, especially since the twin 65 has the best driveabilit. Did the Gen3 wake the car up a lot? I just don't want to mess with a lower pulley on my car and you can make 22psi with the small upper on the Gen3.

I know this is an older GT500, but it "might" be helpful.
If not, please disregard. lol

I've got a 2011, but the engine is a built/cammed 5.8. Just wrapped up my Gen3 install this morning. TB will be a KB 168 mono with Scott’s adapter, and a DD149 intake.

Going to try a 3" pulley with my 10% lower for the 93 tune. If that's making too much boost (think it'll be borderline) I've got a 3.3" on hand and ready to go. I wish there was a size in between the two, but there's not. Race tune will be MS109, turning it all the way up with a 2.4" pulley and the 10% lower. Lund is once again doing the tuning.

I'll report back with boost #s once I get on the dyno. I'm curious to see myself. My stock Trinity TVS fell flat on it's face past 4K RPMs and dropped a lot of boost. I'm expecting much more out of the Gen3.

Gen2R will make a lot of power but Gen3 will make same power with less boost and room left.
I haven’t had my Gen3 on the dyno yet (currently debating having it welded/ported) but I’m expecting more than 1000rwhp on a 2.5/15% combo.
That twin 67 will give up a bunch of power. I don’t trust the VMP 160/173 yet, so easy answer, Scott Hasty adapter and a KB168 or their twin 75mm.
If Lund still tuning you Steve they have the KB perfect.

Would the big whipple mono be a fit with the Gen 3?

Lund had the Whipple twin 68 on my GT500 dialed perfect and I mean PERFECT. I like the Whipple TB products because you can get them PC'd black.. they look great.

Gen 3 all the way OP... The trinity TVS is a bad ass piece and an as-cast Gen2R is not a big enough upgrade given their price IMO.

I watched that last night. I feel like the Gen3 is best blower for the money out for the GT500s. And it will give me room to grow if I ever end up building my engine and I won't have to make it work very hard to make more power than my TVS.

I'll be running my twin 65mm T/B on my car for the time being. Eventually I would like to use the VMP 160mm T/B. But I need some real reassurance from VMP that the T/B will work. I'm going for 750whp on MS100 so I think that's possible.

Gen3 opening matched the KB pattern better than the Whipple pattern. KB TBs well proven.
An adapter isn’t too hard but we went with just KB.

I agree 100%.
They also put it on a 5.0, (I know it's a totally different engine altogether), but that blower is insane!! Just to show how awesome it is at the VMP Performance Ranch.

(start at the 2:45 mark)

Nobody like KB any more?

My dream car for so long was a Terminator with a Kenne Bell. I got my Redfire Cobra, started reading and bought a TVS. For the money; they're hard to beat.

Plus, I just don't like some of the stories of how Kenne Bell treats some of their customers and their posts about how their canned tunes are so great.

VMP recommended just messing the upper pulley for now. I'm getting mixed messages. Lund said the smallest pulley to go with on pumped gas (93) is a 3.0, whereas VMP says I can go to 2.6 pulley. The FRPP twin 65mm is solid. I heard the new revised VMP 160mm works good. But thats only from 1 review.

I have a gen 3 on my 2012 right now. I have a vmp 67mm but have a hasty adapter to run a KB throttle body. I am debating on the mono or the twin 75.

Steve why did you get rid of the KB mono? Seems like you went through 3 or 4 throttle bodies in a short time frame.

As far as pullies it seems to me that Lund has always been a little more conservative than others on pump gas. Which isnt a bad thing as pump gas typically sucks.

If I was running AZ 91 pump I wouldn't go lower than a 3.0 either. but since I run MS100 I think I'll be ok, I'm going to contact Lund before I order it to make sure everything is ok, I'll also talk to him about the 160mm T/B and see what he recommends.

I wen't through a lot for sure, for some reason my calibrater at Lund couldn't make anything work correctly and I was getting very pissed. The twin 65mm was the only one that worked perfect. I have a new calibrater now so hopefully moving forward it will be good. Driveability is one of the most important things to me so I'll live with the twin 65 for now. Eventually I want to do the vmp160, but i need some more feed back on it first.

If Lund is your tuner they will recommend the FRPP TB. I think they like the KB monoblade as well... Drivability issues with the other TBs on the market...I knew a guy that all kinds of issues with the Ford mono blade. Had it rebuilt by Accufab and still would go into limp mode. I had a mono blade (prefer not to say the brand) and limp mode after every tune... Eventually went to FRPP twin 65mm and it has been flawless...
