I miss my first unit I got into (RTT) in the Marines. Best job all of us ever had. We'd go to work for 2 weeks at a time and during that time we slept, ate, worked out, and watched movies and played video games whenever we wanted and we were in charge of ourselves for the most part. All we had to do was train every day which was never easy but we were the best at what we did. It was some of the best times and the best job.

I miss my time being in the Navy and being out to sea and just watching sunsets in the Indian Ocean. Had a port of leave in Diego Garcia.

I miss having parents....grandparents... (natural and step all gone) It'll be 3 years next Saturday that I lost my mom unexpectedly. She died a year and a day after her mom. She was just 58.
My only immediate family is my only sister 500 miles away in Colorado.
The world is such a strange place when you have no one that can remember you when you were young or tell you about your ancestors... I have to ask my my moms cousins.

PSA (Everyone, write a will... probate court is terrible, slow and expensive)

There are a lot of things in life that I miss, but life changes. I would love to have my wife's grandfather back. I would love to have my grandparents alive and well again.

I miss my house on the lake.
I miss my Dodge Ram and my Hayabusa.

The list could go on and on, but I cannot live in the past.

I miss being able to play pickup football or basketball and then feeling fine the next day. If I do that now, I'm basically immobile for like 48 hours afterwards.

When I was in my 30s I played tackle football on a rainy day in a wonderful park and when it was over could not turn my head to the left for five days.

We used to do the same where we would go into work. We were right on the Hood Canal and across the water was the Olympic Mountains so we would go on top of the building we stayed in with lawn chairs and we would sit and BS and watch the sun set behind the mountains.
