I have a set of FR500 style rims that are 18x9 and 18x10s. I was thinking about taking my 17" M/T off and run these awhile. So I need to get some decent tires for them. What tire size and brand do you guys recommend for street use?

Same as big dad 18x9-275/35/18 front 18x10.5-295/35/18 Nitto NT05. Pretty good tire.
Have to disagree. My 18" Toyo 295 Proxes Sport hook better than my 315 NT05 17's did
These suck IMO unless you have the R compound. ie get NT05R
Ran the NT01R - it was decent too

It looks like you make big power and if I were you I would do what I am about to - a Toyo R888 305/35. About the biggest tire you can properly put on 10" wheel that has decent tire life and good grip before you get into a real drag radial. Better sidewall for street driving than MT

No I'm on just the nt05. I daily drive mine. They may have made a change since you had them. I hook well in second. I was spinning second on bfgoodrich. I'm only lightly modded and don't launch hard either though. Good to know when I upgrade some more though.

275/35R18 and 295/35R18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport on 18x 9 and 18x10.5 wheels. Love these tires! Great street manners and don't get slimy when hot and wear great.

Thanks everyone. These will be more of a car show tire as I have ET Streets for the track. Also debating which to use on the dyno coming up. ET streets or a great street tire.

Strictly looks the r888’s do look very nice with there tread pattern. I think they hook like garbage.
Traction, m&h racemasters.

Don't use a "track tire" on the dyno, they are soft and get chewed up real quick.

Ya I remember years ago my ET Streets seemed to just file away. Plus they were made in 2007 so a few years old.

Fine to have an opinion if you don't like them but garbage is strong word for a street tire. Current 1/2mi record holder 257mph ugr lambo w/ 2500 hp was on 888's

18x9-275/35/18 front 18x10-295/35/18 rear... BF Goodrich Rivals.

They are a great tire. Warm summer months, rolling into it, I can hook all gears with 800 hp. They are obviously fighting for there lives for traction as they are at the limit, in the low gears. If you just hammer on it they will just spin. My Hoosier QTP's act the same way on the street. So I am very happy with them. They handle really well too.

Garbage is what I think of the Nitto 555r. I've been able to hook at a 40mph roll in 2nd gear with r888. And my tires are nearly worn out. That's with 650+rwhp.

M&H have limited sizes in 18's last time I checked.

I have a new set of r888 going on this year.

I like my toyo TQ’s in a 315/35/18. I run an nt05 up front.

Next I want to setup the front with a well backspaced wheel and try for a 305 nt01 and 335 rear.

Question for you folks, I've searched and can't find an exact answer I'm looking for. I have 18x9's 18x10 Saleen Reps, with 305/35/18 R888's for the rear. I'm trying to figure out what front tires I should run. Can I just get cheap budget front tires? Do they have to match? Anyone have any recommendations? 275/35/18 I'm guessing?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Cam
