Sold the 03 cobra to a great guy on the site and picked my new ride up today.
77 datsun 280z. Only mods are suspension upgrades and wheels. All original otherwise. 44000 miles. Its a really fantastic car.

While the '90 coupe has lied in wait over the winter in my unheated pole barn...

I've been building a mild small block in my heated garage. E303 cam, stock forged slugs, roller rockers, ARP studs, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, FR oil pan, blah, blah. Going full cave man and yanked everything fuel injection related and converted to carburetion. Added a cam gear eccentric, a mechanical fuel pump, and I already took care of the tank with a new pickup and lines. The theme this time around is black, stainless, and aluminum.

I spent a lot of time on all the details in order to achieve to function and look I wanted. I wanted the power steering pump and alternator low so that you could see the engine as well as access everything with ease. The only thing I might change is the alternator bracket as I want more belt wrap. I'll likely order some aluminum plate and fabricate a wider bracket so that I can add a pair of idler pullies to increase the amount of belt contact on both the crank and water pump pullies.

Full paint correction, same wheels but 16" new center console(oem replacement due to this one being cracked, common...) electric power steering is a strong possibility, new carpet due to these being faded, also common. Removing factory bumpers and installing factory 240z bumpers. Replace oil pan and while doing that may bore, stroke, cam and a few other goodies. Look into shifter upgrades. Rear disk conversion. I think thatll get me close!
