I’ve heard other states can take in consideration of what happened to end the marriage . California is a no fault state so it doesn’t even matter . In the end if you make a decent wage and your ex doesn’t work your gonna take it up the rear with a sand paper condom.
I’m actually glad it happened . The starting over part was hard but I’m much better off than I’ve ever been . My kids actually have a step mom that loves and cares for them more than their bio-mom. We took in my new wife’s brothers child. It has been a true blessing . My family life is close now, we do things with my mom twice a week every week. If I hadn’t went through a difficult time I wouldn’t be the person I am today .

I found a new 2018 F250 xlt diesel 4x4 still on the lot. Gonna go look at it tomorrow around noon time. They said they are lowering the cost since it’s their last 18 model. The good news is if it works out I liked the color of the truck,It’s magnetic . It has a msrp around 58k so I’m hoping to get it around 49k but we will see how bad they wanna sell it. I have about 3k in positive on our Jeep and about 4 to 5k negative on the mustang . So ultimately if the payment can be had for 1k a month I can swing it. If it’s gonna be 1200 or more I don’t wanna be in that territory. So I’ll let you all know how it goes? Worst case I simply leave with our two nice cars .

If $200 is the variance between being able to make a payment and not being comfortable.....I would reconsider.

That “cushion” can disappear in a moment with one small change.

In the end it is your money. It’s also your accountability for the next several years.

Good luck.

Well I just wanted to be at a certain amount. So I won’t know where it will be until I go in and work all the number between both trades and the deal on the new truck. If it’s more than I want or feel comfortable I won’t do the deal. Like always you wanna shoot for the lowest amount since that’s what counts.

If you want to be in those payments it may as well be in something you like.

Sub 100k a year and forking over 1K a month for a car.....I’m still baffled.

Out of curiosity what is your total monthly debt owed and what is your true monthly income. May want to look at that before you bank on bonuses or OT pay.

1k a month for how many years? It’s a large payment for what? Why not just get a comparable F150 and save like 15k or more.

That's so screwed up!!!
The woman can be a whore, but you still lose everything?? What's the point in getting married then? SCREW THAT NOISE.

Not only do you lose everything financially, you don't get to be in your child's life every night. OK, I gotta calm down before I really go on a rant:

If we get the 5.0 f150 I could kinda still have my hot rod. I could always whipple the truck. So maybe it would be the best of both worlds?

The F250 wasn’t working with the options I wanted out the door was getting close to 70k
Gotta find out but the f150 coyote is 54k minus a lot on rebates since we picked a 18 model

I picked up a used 15 in 17 and paid around $16,000 less than it stickered for new. FYI.

We ended up passing . This was a different dealer and they were playing games with the numbers imo. We’re never up front , just said it didn’t matter as long as the payments where I want. Imo everything matters . So we’re gonna go back to the dealer where I purchased the mustang. They were honest and were like here is what it cost, this is your rebate and x plan and this is what u pay.

I love ford but the dealers were playing way to many games . I was there for like 6 hours and couldn’t get a solid answer on what the new truck would be. They also wanted my wife to go on the loan since we were trading in her Jeep with equity. My dad is in car sales for 36 years he said that was a bunch of b.s.
We ended up looking at the tundras after calling their sales person that I was working with a week ago. We got a 2019 cement gray limited 4x4 with the 5.7 motor. It’s got leather and the sun roof. I really wanted the F250 but it didn’t seem to be in the cards. The Toyota dealer was no hassle we were in , test drove and financed within 3 hours . So I guess ford lost this sale due to retards at the dealer . Not ford fault , I feel the sales guys were liars and super greedy.
I kept my 2018 Mustang gt . I was prepared to sell it in the deal but my dad advised to sell private party. So I listened to him and will try to find a buyer . If it happens in a month or in a year it’s not a problem I can pay both and the family will still be ok. Thanks for all the advice from everyone. I just felt the Jeep was crappy and I wanted to sell while we had 3 k to the positive. I leased the new tundra so the payment was where I wanted it to be. On the buy it was gonna be way more than I wanted so after the lease is over I’ll most likely try and buy it since it has all the bells and whistles the wife wanted .

My wife and I talked about selling the paid for 4 runner and corolla. Realistically I could get about 9k for both probably without any arguments on selling price. So we would have a lot more money in our pocket . Two less car registrations and two less on insurance.

What are your thoughts on that?
The one thing I love about the corolla is it’s the gas saver. So maybe just sell the 4Runner?? Or sell the corolla only. So we would have one back up vehicle.
The corolla has a ton of miles 300k)but it’s still worth about 2500 to 3k
4Runner has 135k miles and is worth about 6 to 7k so that has more value but less mpg

Nothing to add other than congrats on getting into a Tundra, they are great trucks.

I also have a 4Runner and know from experience that you will have no problem selling a 4wd 4Runner as long as you price it reasonably.

Unfortunately the 4Runner is a 2wd. But it’s in great condition so I see it still as a easy sell . Just would appeal to someone wanting it for off road. Reliable and great for family.
