All,

First post, happy to be here. Thanks.

Question.. I have an opportunity to buy a 2003 Cobra, red in color, 6 speed, all options, all documentation. Car has 2,000 original miles, totally original, no scratches, mint.. Original owner since 03. Car has been cranked every 6 months or so with a short drive. What should I check for upcoming issues? Inter Cooler? Also, what is a good price you think? Thank you.

the #1 suggestion is get a compression test. cars could be modded, run into the ground, then put back to stock. those 2000 miles could have come 1/4 mile at a time...

Do basic homework. Can you see the car in person? If it's from the original owner, the questions you need to ask should be answered quickly.
Check it out, then jump on it if the price is right!

Yes, I've seen and it is perfect every way. Does mid $20's sound right?

Sounds like a fantastic car! Don't shoot him an offer. Ask him what his asking price is and then decide a course of action. If it is in the 20s, the seller does not know the value of what he has. If it is in the low to mid 30s, it's still a good deal for what you are getting. There aren't too many low-mile unmolested Terminators left. This sounds like a good find!

Also consider what you want it for. If you want to drive it, pass. Nearly $10k of it's value is due to low miles. If you want it as a collector, could be a good buy. Red isn't a high demand color. Of it were MC, CO, or SB I could see mid $30k. For red, high $20k is where it should be IMO.

While I agree a color like Mystichrome will command a higher price, a 2000 mile virgin Terminator in any color is kind of a rare find. If it’s priced in the 20s, it’s a steal! zresfire04 brings up a good point though... if the car is going to be modded and driven extensively, you might as well not pay the low-mile virgin price and find one more well “used.”

Asking $25K.. I'm going to try at $23

Sunday grocery getter with a drive to work once a month. I'd put less than 2,000 a year. Keep for a few years then move on to a different Stang. Goal would be to still sell, if I did, with less than 10k miles.

I'll plan no mods. Enjoy it exactly as it is.
