Fredericksburg here. Any track rats near by?
@rwleonard I had no idea you are that close. I'm on the Woodbridge/Manassas line. Are you in John Woolbright's group? We try to get the track at least one a month. Summit Point for me, mostly. Dominion Raceway track surface is in really bad shape... so I am staying away from the facility for awhile.

I am not sure who John is. I don't belong to any groups. I mostly run with Track Daze. I have only been doing it one full season. I hit Dominion and VIR last year, I am adding Summit Point this year. When was the last time you were at Dominion? There is one bumpy section heading under the bridge, but the rest of the track seems fine.
I want to hit the track some this year with my bird.

@TAF we are having a dinner meet this Saturday at Applebees in Short Pump, Richmond area at 4pm. Would be good to see you if you can make it. Just a few of T Bird guys.
If anyone else wants to come hang out, that is cool too. The more the merrier. One OG bird guy has a 15 Stang now so we don't discriminate.

John Has a Mustang club called Mustangs On Track Unlimited. He has been working with companies to get group discounts for things like tires and track time.
I love the guys at Track Daze. Jeremy and the team are awesome to work with. I mostly work with them for track time.
My last day at Dominion was October 20th. I had a membership there, but the track was so unruly that I canceled it. The dip under the bridge is a sinkhole that Steve doesn't have money to fix. It has been getting worse over the last year and it unsettled my car way too much at any speed over 30 mph. I don't like the idea that coming out of turn 2 we are going 80 mph at a giant wall before we take the next right apex either. The whole top end of the track has way too much concrete for my comfort.
Nice!!! We should meet up at a cruise-in like C&C or the cruise-in @ BK by Manassas airport. I'm over by your place all the time for Target and Five Guys Burgers!

Yeah we used to hit BK all the time. Didn't see much over there last year after Swirlies took over the parking lot. Is there much going on there anymore?
Haven't hit a C&C yet. I assume facebook is the best place to find out about those? Is there a certain page for it?
We used to do the Cecil rentals all the time back in the day with NVMC.
I'm debating on taking the trip to Williamsburg in the morning for cars and coffee. There isn't one this weekend in Va beach. But my car is hideous right now I dunno if I want people seeing it
The guy who used to own basically all of the Burger King stores in PWC was a huge car guy. Pro racing, whole 9. He was a member of the Bull Run Street Rods car club and hosted a cruise-in at that BK for almost 2 decades. Most of the lot was owned/leased by Swirlies for some time, but they worked together well.
He sold his business and retired. The new owners had a huge fight with the guy who owns Swirlies because he was steeling electricity from BK for years, and only found out during a remodel last year. After that the owner of Swirlies blocked off his lot.
Since that happened, the Bull Run Street Rods stopped going. So now its just unorganized groups and individuals just kind of showing up once in awhile. Some days its great. Some days it sucks.
The best one I have been to is D&D at Dulles Landing (intersection of 50 and Loudoun County Parkway). They guy who owns the D&D, is a car guy (69 Camaro and a Hummer). Its every Sunday, regardless of weather, year round.

Cool! The club doesn't do much track stuff these days. Mostly cruises, parades, etc.
Any interest in a summer meet/ cruise from people? I'm gonna take advantage of being here in VA, I'm going to OC, MD this summer but I def want to make it to mustang week in myrtle beach while I'm so close and have the time.

I certainly understand those concerns, Marc! I live less than 15 minutes from DR, so it's hard not to go. I just stay well within my limits when surrounded by concrete!
Hey Chris...sorry to just now be seeing this. I hope you and Sherman are doing GREAT! I miss seeing you guys. We should get together once the weather turns warm.
