There's this horrible vampire called insurance. It feeds on life. To get it, it sucks money out of the living.

I need life insurance too. Just got married, bought a house, etc. Possibly children....soon.

Are there any online brokers that can shop around for you, or is it best to stay with a local rep (within a larger company)?

Cheapest I could find around here was $108 a month for $350k for a 30 year policy. They told me if i were to ever come off blood pressure meds, that rate would cut in half. They lied. Been off bp pills for 5 years. They were like,,yeh we didnt really mean that.

Just signed a 500K 20 year term with Pacific Life for a whopping $38 a month. Decent pain in the ass to set up but it's done. I will say the agent I worked with was pretty straight forward with everything, but man was he persistent.
The cost all depends on what type of health you have and that includes family medical history, your past medical history, cigarettes, medical drugs, illegal drugs and your booze intake just to name a few.

I have 30 year term 1million and wife has 800k along with added disability coverage for 120$ a month with northwestern mutual.
The idea for us is if one of us passes that we could pay off the house and still be able to provide for two kids with one income.

Zander insurance

10X? I don't think the goal of life insurance is to set up your next of kin for life.
It’s meant to replace the income of the lost one. If the deceased made $50k a year, you put $500k into investments(mutual funds) that return an average of 10/12% a year. You now have replace your income for your loved ones.

Dam didnt realize our life insurance is so cheap.

Through the American institute of CPAs I pay like 250 a year for 750k in coverage for myself and pay 280 a year for 750k for my wife. Best part is we usually get 200 of the 530 back as a rebate in March of the following year.

I wouldnt go though work, reason being if you decide to leave, get laid off or straight up fired. You lose your life insurance.

I bought life insurance with my daughter in mind for when I pass away. At the time of my death, I'm assuming she'll be employed, married, or both. In other words, she likely won't need my income to live. Maybe I don't even need life insurance, now that I think about it.
