I've owned 6 Mustangs, all bought new from a dealership. 5 of the 6 were SVT/FP vehicles. While I prefer a manual transmission, I think the DCT is the right performance move for the new car. You just aren't going to be able to put this level of power to the ground with a manual.
Yes there's a trade-off, but manuals are part of the driving experience. The day they die is a sad day. Just like the day the combustion engine cease to exist.

I’m not trying to be a dick, but did you read the original post? This is exactly what this thread doesn’t need.

I’m trying to accomplish a goal and get ford to notice they have a big market for manual transmissions for the new car. Not pat them on the back for the DCT. I work in the auto industry so I’m going to find a way to get this in the right hands.

I asked nicely for people to keep this thread clean and message or email me with feedback or post it somewhere else. Maybe you didn’t see it or read it entirely. If it’s not a major inconvenience to edit your post it would make things easier on me when I pass this along.

And for the record.... I’ll put the 750 or so HP down fine w a stick shift. My 14 made just under 800 at the wheels and that was no issue for me. :D

That goes for everyone, please keep this on topic and clean with how we want a manual... not a justification or opinion about what they are building or why it’s right wrong or indifferent.

For god sakes Gillette lovers stay on task!

95 GT auto trans went out at 61k

2001 GT manual, slow but it’s life was spent driving from college to the strip, needed new coil packs, plugs, and injectors frequently, sold at 101k without any problems.

98 SVT Cobra
2004 Mach 1
2013 5.0 manual
15 GT PP manual
13 GT500
11’ SVT Raptor
Wife has 16’ Ford Edge Sport, she won’t buy the ST because she refuses to have a dial for a gear selector

If you want fast in the track pack have the DCT, but I won’t buy another GT500 unless the “Base” has a manual option/ just not the garbage one fromGT350 or 5.0.
Get me an 03-04 Cobra or GT500 Tremec.

SAVE THE MANUALS.

For not trying you're doing a good job. Aside from not giving my name I did exactly what you asked. Thanks for singling me out, guess you didn't like my opinion, as you didn't admonish the blatant "rule breaking" of those on your side of the argument.

If Ford puts a manual option in I’ll cancel the hunt for a Gen V Viper. Don’t make me go back to Dodge, Ford. I’ve voiced my opinion in the other thread.

04 Mach 1, 04 Cobra, 2014 GT500.

Pretty much right on track here. By definition of the rules for this site, these threads are for civil and healthy discussions, not the proliferation of one sided opinions. Market your petition, send it to Ford, good luck to you on it having some effect. The thread allows others to speculate and voice their opinions on what the positives and negatives of a petition would be.

I have owned 4 Mustangs (1 was a 2009 FT500, all manuals, and was planning to buy a GT500 until I heard there was no manual transmission offered. I will not buy one until Ford offers a manual.
