Nice Patrol rifle, Marc. Slick!

Are you pretty secluded? I don't see any houses in the backgrounds of those photos. If so, looks like you could have some fun from the deck. ;)

Thanks! I appreciate it!. SIG did a great job.

The houses behind me are more than 1,000 feet away, so I am good to go as far as that is concerned. But, my property ends about 300 feet back and its federal land with a water right of way. So no target practice, I'm afraid.

That said, I have taken my share of small and medium game on our property. Took a 20 lb turkey right outside my basement sliding glass door just 2 months ago. Literally took the shot from inside the house. LOL

Picked up the 43X today. Put a few hundred rounds through it. Obviously changed the sights and trigger shoe. So far so good.

This was unexpected. I spoke with one of my gun guys and told them I wanted a Browning Hi Power in .40. He began searching, keep in mind I told him Wednesday. He brought 2 9mm’s over so I could put one in my hand, on Wednesday. So less than 30 mins ago he shows up to my house with this:

Its a .40 Hi Power, in a very rare factory two tone finish. An unexpected birthday present to myself.

Very nice. Big fan of Hi-Powers. Glad you got the stainless frame with the .40. I've read where the .40 wreaks havoc on the frame and slide. Not sure how true that is but I'd watch shooting over powered loads on it. Nice gun though!!!!

I started getting into long range shooting toward the end of last fall. I started to understand pretty quickly that when you are shooting a target that is a half mile or a mile away, things like the air pressure and temperature start to become very important when it comes to first shot success. Wind also seems to have a lot less of an impact than I expected.

I am trying to teach myself how to read conditions so I can make a better shot, but realistically, a human accurately determining air pressure basically is not happening. So, I picked up an affordable Kestrel weather station and tri-pod. It has really basic features, but everything I need to do what I need to. Station pressure, elevation, temp, wind speed (real-time, average and max). Figured I would share a couple pictures.

That's a lot of gun for the money. Looks like a great entry into the bolt world, make sure to let us know how you like it after you get it out a few times.

Saw this on Amazon. I thought it was pretty cool. It would look great on our front door. One of our neighbors, our district (Democrat) representative, would be ticked. LOL. She wasn't thrilled to find out that I had a carry license. She outright told me she'd now be afraid to knock on my door while campaigning because she might get shot. Really?

I will, I’m hopefully going to be loading some good ammo up and getting to the range soon!

Thank you. I’m not much of a semi auto pistol guy (revolvers are my thing) but I liked the Hi Power and my father’s government model 1911 and his other special 1911. According to my gun guy the 9mm’s would f up the frames. When they released the .40 they used a stronger frame and in time they switched the 9mm to the same frame. All in the life time of the MK3’s. I could have that wrong but I know he’s a walking encyclopedia of guns.

I absolutely love my VP9SK. Best gun I've owned and fired. I swear they made it just for me. LOL.

I like my VP9SK a lot as well. Shoots and feels great. I should have bought the LE version, now I'm trying to figure out what night sights to get.
