Bring it to Mod Nats?!

Thank ya sir, still running the RXT with about 20K on it....although after this past weekend it’s done.....and X275 Pro’s. I’m really wanting to make the trip but my kids are in the playoffs in all their sports and work/money may say otherwise also. Going to do my best though.

That's very impressive on DRs. I know the Pros are legit, but still, I very well know how difficult racing a true street manual trans on DRs. Any tips?
I'm assuming it's partly in allowing the clutch to slip and keep force loaded on the Pros. Double adjustable shocks?

What is the record for a car still equipped with a 6-Speed? I am looking to see how fast I can get next season still keeping the 6-Speed before I swap to a TH400 or Glide after 2019 racing season.

What rear gears are you running. Did you see any mph/et improvements going from the bias ply to the radial? I will be going for some 8s late next year in my 6spd 2650 car. Thanks.

I'm running a 3.55 gear since I change to my current combo just because I was getting a shift light just before the stripe with my 3.73's. I knew with the new power and slightly lower rpm range, I'd be getting the light well before the traps. The 3.55's have proved well at the 155-158mph that im running now. Good luck and, more than anything, be patient. I'm sure you'll get it man.

I apologize for the delay in getting back here. The biggest/best tip that I was ever given and its still true today for stick shift drag racing is "Seat Time"! The passes I made this past weekend put me at 652 passes with this car and it paid off. I'll be posting that shortly. I only single adjustable on front and back. The rears are QA1's and my fronts are the cheap Kong's yet both do an exceptional job of getting me up on the tire nicely. I run the same MSD 2-step that has been on the car since 2011 and with the power level that I'm at and with the radials I launch between 2200 and 2900 rpm depending on how the track is working for me. The radials were really tough to learn but when you do, you'll never run a slick again if you're a true street car.

Very impressed. Looking for 9.50s out of my 2650/MagnumXL combo next spring. Eventually may shoot for 8s but not willing to run a cage in this car as I have a clean LX ready caged.
I may eventually convert back to radial, but until I have the car sorted on the new combo I just bought 28x12.5 ETR bias.
Any advice on where to start on the bias ply MTs?
Should have had a report back from Mod Nats but oh well. Could have been the fastest GT500 in driver mod class :(
Will you or red3v run any larger events next year?
Happy turkey day!

I totally understand the cage situation with me stepping on those toes right now. I gotta make that decision soon too and its bothering me already.
I've had some buddies go pretty fas on the R's but don't know any of my stick buddies thats running them. That'll kinda be new ground from my perspective also and very interested in how they do. as for the MT Pro's, there's definitely some hard earned tricks to be had on these tires. I'll message ya in a couple days if thats cool and give ya a better low down on them.

I am definitely gonna try to do at least 2 of the Street Car Takovers, 2 NMRA events and Mod Nat next year. I really hate that I missed the Mod Nats this year. I'd love to see a bunch of us get to race together next year. Happy Thanksgiving to you too brother.

Greetings:

I'm not sure what's happened here but Iron Terp sent me a message and asked that I update the times in the first post of this thread which I did. Not sure why I have not been getting notices to replies because I'm still subscribed. However, it's all updated now. SVT4me38, I added you but you need to add a list of mods.

Carry on!

New best 9.55@152 and a nice 9.80 in True Street avg rolling the beams a bit on the last pass, otherwise 3 straight 9s heat soaked in TS form after a 30mile cruise. Very happy with my full weight street car.
