This was the closest I could find but don't know of availability. Perfection Wheel - 17x8 5-Spoke Alloy Factory Wheel (Refinished)

And widening a wheel will definitely change the offset but if the additional width was added to the front side of the wheel it would not change backspacing.
That's not just close sir, that's IT. It's the exact same! You're a wizard!! Now if only we could find some fat boys cause widening rims here is like 250 a pop!!

I know you really want the 98 wheels but tbth I'd really just go with a set of SVE 00R wheels at 18x9.5 all the way around and call it... like $550 shipped for the whole set.

1998 was one of the best looking SVT wheels there was in my opinion. They tweaked the '95 R wheel just enough and it came out brilliant. That being said I don't know why nobody makes a faithful replica of this wheel.

I'd also like another set of floor mats like my originals with the small embroidered cobra logos but Ford doesn't offer them anymore. But that's a whole other story.

Widening wheels isn't cheap. But it sounds like wider '98 wheels are what you want, and I don't see that price unreasonable at all if it means you end up with exactly what you want. I think that setup would look great!

And I think you already have the ideal set of wheels to be widened. A reputable shop who's capable of widening wheels should also be able to repair the curb rash. If I were doing this, I'd much prefer to modify a set already requiring repair than an NOS/mint/restored set.

Oh a good shop can 100% fix rims that have chunks taken out of the lip, not just rash. My original circal 2000 Steeda Ultra lites were all 4 curbed to hell and one of them looked like a dude took a chisel to it. Really good shop local to me made them look brand new.

How much did they charge? Always wondered what a shop would charge to restore a set of wheels.

Charged me $125 per wheel and that included a mount and balance of the tires. I had new tires shipped directly to the shop from Tirerack so I dropped off beat to shit rims and bad tires and picked up brand new rims and tires.

Pretty sure theres a guy on Facebook selling a set of 98 OEMs for about $350 picked up. Cant figure out how to link to the actual post, but they are listed in the "SN95 MUSTANGS(94-98 SPECIFIC)" group.

Edit: Seller represented to me that they are in fact OEM 98 Cobra rims. Added the photo from the listing.

That's a really good find dude! I don't really need. New set so much as a wider set lol. I'm a member of that page and can't even find those. Where is "local pick up"? Ohio? That seems to be where it all is lol
