Goose, I'm surprised you don't have a '93 Cobra R by now.

Of the 3 Rs, the 00R is my favorite by a LONG shot! Ford hit a home run with that car! My second favorite would be the 93R simply because I like Fox body Mustangs with the Cobra being the top Fox. That said, I find the 93 Metallic Teal Cobra the sexiest of the bunch! It’s all a matter of personal tastes, but the 95R is a distant 3rd for me. It’s a nice performer though.

On a side note, I did get another car delivered tonight. I’ll do a reveal soon.

The 93R does nothing for me. Good for the guy who paid stupid money for it that wanted one, but I don’t get it.

Was a nice car, I looked at it pretty closely. #11 has 551 miles. Plastic still on seats, carpet, door panels etc. "chalk" marks on windshield etc.

Parked next to it was an automatic 7-up. 2x miles (if I recall). The hood looked like it had been cleaned with a Brillo pad (didnt look good), sold for $40k. Auctions often do not provide good data of what cars actually sell for in real life.

I think the most interesting part of the auction was how quickly it went up. Considering how the older original muscle cars were way off last years price I'd say we are seeing a shift in the market with those people who dreamed of owning cars from the 80-90's now having the means to buy them. Buy them while you can as I see the prices going no where but up!!

Btw, I was at the auction and this car showed very well. It's also worth noting that the owners other cars which were 94+ did not fair as well.

A friend that recently bought a 70 GT500 Grabber Orange Convertible and I were recently discussing how the era of cars is changing and how the 60s will weather the aging of that generation. It was Model Ts, then As and the 40s-50s cars going way up and then down. It is going to be interesting to see how the Mustangs of the 60s do value wise, both the entry level models vs. high end like Boss and Shelby. It seems the Shelby prices are struggling to keep going up. I am wondering if they are topped out. The 80s are the meat of the market where buyers are getting their youth again. It is an interesting time for values.

Pretty decent return.
The same seller bought 5 of the "overpriced" Dennis Collins cars in 2017 at barrett jackson .He lost over 40k on the 7 up car this week and about the same on the 89 hatch .He paid 79/82k for those two. The cobra didn't even cover the losses he took on those two , he also had two gt500s and a 84 gt350 and a 94 and another sn95 at barrett. Overall he did not have a good week.

When are you revealing the new car? Inquiring minds want to know what you added to the stable? Should we play a guessing game? What’s Goose’s new car?

Mark,
I wasn't there but agree with you. Do you agree here?:
  • The early Mustangs are not doing that well but still get good bids.
  • The Fox body cars are getting good bids.
  • Not yet for the SN95 cars (1994+ plus cars).
I just talked with the guy that bought my old 1991 Mustang LX 5.0L. He still owns it and has another 3000 miles on it. It was perfect when he got it. He wouldn't price it...

I think the focus shifting away from the 60s and moving to the 70's-mid 90's.

I think the cars from the 60's are still awesome but I'm not sure how much upside there is left in that market.

Hey i'd love to expand on the pic......that guy with the car is SVE supervising engineer Steve Anderson, who helped bring the car to reality, and the picture is taken in his driveway one night when he brought the car home. To be honest I dont know if that was a prototype or perhaps the #1 or 2 car......i just remember going for a spin around the block and it sounded awesome........if i only had $132,000 i'd love to go for a spin again ....good times, as many r fans know . Thx for the question....good to reflect on the memories.

GREAT PICTURE!!!, can you elaborate? Is that car #11 when new, or a different R?

Hopefully soon... it needs some love before it is ready for prime time. I started paint correction on it today. Spent quite a few hours on it and got about 2/3rds through stage 1 (longest stage). Between work (flying), martial arts classes (I teach) and son’s basketball games (won today in OT), it may take me a little while, but I’ll get it done eventually.

Ah yes, I should have known that. I did not get to meet him, but for sure know who he was. He signed our 95R (before we owned it). Thanks for posting the pic.

Interesting I did not know that makes sense flipping cars is very hard game...most people lose at it
