I actually have high hopes for this one. It is a direct follow up to the originals, and is written and directed by Ivan Reitman's son:

I have high hopes too. Ghostbusters is a classic and one of my favorites. Glad to see a director who is more concerned about doing right by the franchise than getting political points.

I heard Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson were definitely coming back, but Bill Murray is a maybe. I hope he does!

Not much to know either way, good or not so good, but I'll be watching for more when available. Honestly, I'm not a big Melissa McCarthy fan. The original will always be the original/best. Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd were great.

The entire cast was great in the first one!

This was a waste of a teaser.

There was an extended cut version with Dan when he was on JLG driving the new fugly Ecto basically saying a third was more then half way in the making but one major problem was that the 2nd one flopped so hard. The first one was so perfected it left less room to build that they should have just stopped there with 1 instead of rushing into another one, also another reason Bill didn't really want any part of a third. It was the first movie to ever actually scare the living **** out of me because it was designed to and being really young that left a really long impression I didn't go outside at night for months after I saw it but then again I was like only like 4 or 5 when I first saw it, I still have problems looking at the Devil Dogs, shitty thing also happened.... when I flew into EAB and went to a friends house about 10 years ago first thing you run into is a full mother***ing head of the main Devil dog cast that I guess they sell of them now to hang on the walls full scale. Don't think I've ever ran from something that fast in my life. Perfection is a horrible thing and this new "teaser" showing a very weathered Ecto is an exact omage to the first one, it wasn't supposed to be a "pretty" show car like it ended up more in the 2nd one it was build to do one thing, **** up ghosts. Even with Egon gone and Rick probably won't come either due to retiring from acting after his wife died to raise his kids it still fits in perfect with a direct sequel, but not to the 2nd one, THE FIRST ONE. The music they used with the Devil Dogs and Gozer in 1 made it surreal and using it in this teaser is aiming it at a pretty beat up Ecto I think is a good directional way of pointing out it was a serious business in the first one doing what they did, hell no one even liked them, thought they were a joke.. until they realized what was actually going on. The second movie was a joke and strayed away from horrors of what the first one gave, it was a master piece. They also made it seem pretty plausible that the events from the first one could have happened to grind in fear for people watching. Second one was for school kids.

I dunno its all speculation at this point anyways but the way I see the teaser is it gives a lot more then what people think, Ecto went through hard times, the crew went through hard times, anything that goes to battle comes back damaged. Ecto is showing you she's had some rough times which none of the movies have ever shown even the new shitty one. They were saviors in a time where they were pioneering and looked to be a pretty localized event, we didn't get broadcasts from cities around the world all showing the same thing, so it makes a bit more sense they did what was needed in the first movie and cleaned up what was left afterward then retired the practice no longer needing the equipment or having it on standby for so long with nothing happening then finally moving the equipment out probably to that damn barn.

Love the first and even enjoyed the sequel. I will for sure watch this one. That remake was just awful with its campy bad jokes that didn’t relate to the ghost busters theme and story.
