Hi All. I just received my shipment today of Adam's new spray ceramic coating. I am very curious to see how it works and how it applies. I know there are so many new sprays coming on the market that hit the target words "ceramic" "hydrophobic" "9h". Anyways just curious if anyone else is going to try it. I probably won't be able to test it out for a few weeks as I want to dedicate a full day of polishing etc to get the best results.

I just saw their youtube video talking about this and showing them install it. Waiting to see reviews and people really using it. But them using buzz words I see have scared a few people away.

I am looking forward to seeing people use this in real life. Hopefully it is as good and easy as they make it look. Also wondering how durable it will be.

I beta tested it for them. I like it. It's the real deal. Easy on/easy off. Beads like crazy. Great look/shine.
Darkens trim nicely. I've had it on a test vehicle for the past few months. I'll post up some pics.

How durable was it?

Been on for 3 months so far. Going strong. Had diesel fuel splash all over the hood and sit for 3 days. Simple wash brought it right back. No etching/staining/etc.

Vehicle was not corrected prior to application. It was washed and clayed.

I also used it as a topper on this ceramic/glass coated Benz:

Thanks for the pictures. Would you say that it will provide protection against scratching from washing?

Did you try it on polished aluminum?
I don't know if you remember or not, but I used Adams original ceramic on a set of polished True Forged wheels and they came out very hazey. I tried it twice, ended up using G2 ( I think that's what it was called).

No. No product besides PPF (paint protection film/clear bra) will provide scratch resistance.

Was the fuel oil part of a test or an incident?

It was an accident. My buddy drove behind a truck that was leaking diesel!

Yep, I remember. I have not tried it on polished aluminum. Yes, I believe you used Gtechniq C5 wheel armour on them.

so is this thing just spray and wipe? That simple?

Yes, pretty much. Spray, wipe, allow to haze/rainbow, wipe off.

I'm not sure, you would have to check their site for pricing.

Thanks for the reply. So, if it doesn't provide a harder surface is it only to give a deeper color or shine?

I'm curious as well. Is this essentially a longer lasting Spray Detailer like Mother's/Meguiars etc.

Nothing will give your paint surface a 'harder' surface IMO, this is all marketing/hype stating that it will be impervious to scratching/fire/rocks/chips/getting hit with hammers, etc! It will to a degree make it 'harder' and a tad bit 'scratch/swirl resistant' that is all. (and I am speaking of true glass/ceramic coatings here)

Think of it as a longer lasting spray wax or sealant that has similar properties to a coating. (very hydrophobic, great looks, resilient against environmental 'stuff')

Categories of LSP's in regards to longevity:
Waxes.
Sealants.
Coatings Lite. (like the Adam's ceramic spray)
Coatings OTC. (non-pro version)
Coatings PRO.

Got ya. Thanks for that insight. I use their H2O Guard and Gloss every six weeks or so. It makes water shoot off so it must be offering some protection.

Have to agree with NastyGT500, as someone who is on the collision repair end of the industry it’s amazing the misconception about the level of protection provided by ceramic coatings.

I did a full correction and ceramic coat on my wife’s Volvo and still have had a small incident or two where items that lightly brushed the car left marring in the paint that will need refinishing to comepletly resolve.

I get many customers that have had the coating done still confused why they have stone chips or why they still see swirls in their paint after using rough wash brushes or going through likely poorly maintained car washes.

It does however make wash maintanance much easier and really provides a deep glossy finish to the car if prepped properly prior to coating being applied.
