Clear cut case of self defense.. here is the the link
Asheville Mall fight: Lawyer says defendant has PTSD, felt threatened by 'pack of youth'

He is a hero. The guy was at the bookstore, saw a girl getting her ass kicked by this gang of thugs. He personally rescued the girl getting beat up (who was black) and took her out another exit. The gang followed him, and trapped his exit. This is when the video picks up, if anything, this guy should have taken a few more out, and should get a medal and a thank you from the mall and police department for a job well done.

The second they get footage of this guy escorting the first girl, and being followed by the group, I hope they drop every ****ing charge.

It was all fun and games taunting someone while they were in a group and “in control”. Notice they scattered like rats when shit hit the fan.

Its a shitty thing this guy will have to go through. I completely understand what he did and why, and I personally see no problems with it. I am married to a teacher and she was grabbed on the wrists by a 4th grade boy and couldnt get free and had some bruising from it. The boy has discipline and temper issues and a few other problems, his mother just dismisses it as being just a kid. I would have thrown the little ****er through the window, dont mess with my family.
The guy tried to do right and he corrected a wrong. The mob kids parents need a talking to and possibly similar corrections to them as well.

I think I’d have to get my family completely out of harm’s way first. Maybe he did that. I don’t know. I am very leary of helping people anymore unless I’m sure they’re not a threat. I guess I profile them to an extent. People are nuts anymore - too many of them for me to take any risk.

I truly admire this guy’s efforts. I just don’t know if I would have taken action personally and risked getting attacked or stabbed or whatever.

***insert extreme sarcasm*** I'm sure if he would've watched the Gillette video and realized the world needs less "toxic masculinity" he maybe could've handled the situation differently...

What a crock of shit this country has become. It will be interesting to see how the media spins this since he was defending another young girl and she happened to be black and he's the big white bully. I have a 10 yr old son and I'm scared to death the world he's going to be thrust into in just a few short years.

5) What YOU call it is irrelevant. She deserved it. And it will be up to the DA to determine what happens next. Hopefully, he/she has the courage to do what's right and drop all charges.

Exacting justice on someone who "deserves it" is not how the USA legal system works. LOL A lot of people deserve alot of things what matters is what the law says. Even if he gets off scott free his life is going to have a serious reduction in quality from here on out. His business page is already down..

i'm sure many of you would have applauded the guy if he just would have shot the girl in the face. (^_^) Thankfully we have more level headed people writing the laws and making the decisions here.

Wow, we live in different realities. The facts are simple, the girl who got knocked out was part of a gang, this gang was committing violence on another person, and harrassing mall patrons. This HERO, saw it, nobody else was acting, he decided to try and intervene. His family was in close proximity, and other people could have fallen victim. People have to make a personal decision when it's there place to make a stand, and apparently it was this HERO's time.

These are not children, they are criminals and future welfare recipients who are just in children's bodies. If anything he did that piece of trash a favor, maybe if more good men and women stood up to uncivilized behavior and took responsibility for ending this problem with urban youth and their destruction of our cities, we would not all be fleeing their presence. Every thread I read, just move somewhere where these people do not live. Problem is, you cannot simply move yourself to solve this problem. We should all be praising this guy, and his heroic actions.

You can move yourself. I just moved to Colorado Springs from Savannah. A large part of the decision to move was due to things happening in other predominantly black communities like Ferguson and Baltimore. I knew we were living in a place that was one incident away from turning into a black mob riot. My wife and I decided it was time to gtfo before the shit hit the fan.

guess i'll have to be the voice of reason here...

1. Call the cops and move along. There was no way for this situation to end well once he intervened since you can't put hands on a minor. Common sense would eliminate 99% of these types of cases.

2. Best case scenario he gets a misdemeanor, community service, probation, etc and no time served. Regardless at that point he will have a criminal record and this will likely impact his present or future employment. Hope he has some money saved.

3. Worst case scenario he gets a felony assault conviction and has to do some HARD time in federal pound me in the @ss prison. You simply can't throw a haymaker on a child in this country for ANY REASON. This isnt afghanistan or saudi arabia. Either way his life takes a bad turn from here.

4. I got my @ss whipped several times by my parents when i was growing up for various reasons. But they were @ss whippings, not abuse. I was either paddled with their hands, a switch or a belt. Regardless of how bad i was or how mad i made my father he never hit me a closed fist. There is a clear difference from discipline and abuse.

5. LOL at anyone who thinks this was "self defense." This was street justice plain and simple. You could argue she deserved it but that won't save him. There is no scenario where a 200lb adult male can KO a 11yr old kid (especially a girl) and not face legal consequences. In fact, even if she were a 300lb wildebeest as a man you have to know that you cannot put your hands on a female. With today's political climate and gender rights movement i doubt you could even shove a woman and get away with it.

just my 2 cents.. carry on

I bet I can guess what shavers you purchase next.

Some people have jobs, family, and or a business network in a certain area. I live in Broward County Florida, my town was all retired Jewish people 25 years ago, it was zero crime.. the last 10 years have seen an increase in "diversity" leading to some challenges recently. We have considered moving, but then that means finding new jobs, leaving family and a support system and network that took a long time to develop. So I move to an out of the way place, that does not solve the issue. These thugs have cars, and they go to places where the picking is good. I can show you just about any town, and there will and feral youth within driving distance that can ruin your day very quickly.

My wife and I are always making decisions on where we go, based on the time of day, the area and the risk of encountering these people (and my wife is a native born Haitian immigrant). That's the reality we live in today. In fact, on MLK day, most of my friends and myself included take the day off. Not in observance, but there is alot of black on white crime on that day, there is lawlessness and the streets are taken over by thugs and animals on motorcycles and ATV's..

This was here in Asheville. My neice was there and saw everything that happened. Theres a better, longer video that shows the guy being hit. His story is he was there with his family, saw a girl getting jumped by 15 girls and he stepped in to help her. I think hes a hero, and the community here sees him pretty much the same, even though he was charged.

Why was he charged for protecting a girl getting jumped by that mob? If anything he should of punch each one of those little ungrateful kids

He was crowded by a bunch of teens regard of age you have to hold your own but I think a slap to the face would have been better regardless of age. When you take on a pack of wolves you need to strike hard and fast.
You dont slap anyone unless you expect to get knocked out.

My guess is, someone in the mob called 911 and reported an assault, and thats all the police had to go on. The videos didnt surface until the next day.

I had all of those things as Savannah had been my home for over twenty years. I decided I wanted to live in a place with very little of the problems I was seeing in Savannah. I would guess between moving cost and lost income from spending last year setting up connections and my business, it easily cost $150k to relocate. No regrets, I'd do it again.

Wow, way to conflate something that didn’t happen to fit your own prejudice.
