Can a 2005 mustang 3650 front bellhousing cover be used on an 01 cobra. Or use a 2005 mustang tranny and put a 01 cobra shifter tailhousing for use in my 01 cobra? I’d like to have a hydraulic setup on my car.

Why? There are plenty of light pedal options for the 04-down cable setup. Twin discs are super light. There is a hydraulic conversion kit for the SN95 cars already if you really want to.

I’m just curious. If the twins are lite I may look into those. The McLeod hydraulic setup doesn’t fit 4v.

I thought another company came out with a hydraulic option for the 4V? I swear I saw one that had the master cylinder pointed down along the firewall.

FWIW, I felt that the RXT in my 04 was lighter than the stock clutch in my wife's 06. But it might be a little overkill depending on your goals with the car.

Waste of time and effort when a twin disc is so light. I dunno the regular clutches aren't exactly hard to press. An old stock or any aftermarket cable can make them a lot harder than they should be.

I was actually talking to the owner of modern driveline
They may go ahead with this.
I showed him how lousy the McLeod kit was with its two slave cylinders crap.

I just haven't gotten back to him yet.

I have a exidy mach 500.
It is a bear to shift.
A hydraulic setup would need to address this as well IMO.

But...I may do the sin of going 6R80 auto when the t45 craps out..

I would contact them via email.
The owner/designer is very accessible.
And knows about the problem already..

I just wasn't ready to do it yet....

And The t45, t3650, t56 and t56 magnum are the same fit in that regard..

I will try to dig up the emails and can pm them to you..

The trick is finding the right master cylinder.
I THINK it needs to be a pull type and a certain capacity...
McLeod cheesed out and just used a second slave cylinder..It looks lousy..

6R80 would be optimal if the car is gonna go to the 1/4. Any other trans for the car is "settling" unless you like to go around corners. I still say just go with a fresh OEM cable, a max motorsports quadrant and a good twin disc if you are gonna stay manual before screwing with a hydraulic setup. Also go to the gym and do legs. It helps.

I think a 6R80 with paddle shifters would be fun. And make it more usable around corners.

While the twin disc is nice not everyone needs a $1200 clutch. Especially if the car is mostly stock. And I don't know of they make the twin disc in a 10 spline set up. If they don't then you need to add an input shaft to the list.

A buddy of mine went to a Spec 3+ with the low pedal effort option. His knee is bad enough that he going to get surgery and the Spec is easy for him to push.

No, it was worked out a long time ago. Lots of cars running the 6R. It's not like it's any more complicated than any other auto swap. Bolt it all up, wire in the controller and go.

Please show me some sites where the 6RXX has been all worked out for the 4.6.
I am not finding a site that has it all worked out already.
