Gun Safes, what do you have (pics) and what do you recommend?

I've got an older 1200 lb. Cannon self locking gun safe. It's a very good quality safe, it has locking bolts all around the door and although I'm not sure of the thickness of the steel I suspect it's at least 11 gauge due to its weight. When you close the door the bolts automatically lock without you having to turn the spoke handle. Its dark blue color looks very nice. I just moved and am leaving my safe at my other house. I am looking to purchase a safe for my new house. Weight is not a problem as I have a pallet jack and can roll it into place. I'm looking to see what folks think are the best value / best security options out there. I know body and door thickness, fire rating and other features are all over the place in the price ranges but with all my hobbies and expenses I am just looking for the best I can get for the most reasonable price. Looking for something around 40 gun capacity. What do you have/suggest? Any pics? I'll post up pics of mine in a few days - with all the recent rains here my road is flooded and I'm not going anywhere soon. Thanks

S&G Mechanical lock, Get a Liberty. Buy it at least, ""AT LEAST"" twice as big as you think you need.

LOL, that's always what I think when I see these threads. You won't believe how many "What's in your safe" threads there is in firearm forums. Worse is how many people volunteer that information.

Best gun safe is one that some other sucker has to move!

I agree, that's why I'm not moving my other safe, I'm renting my old house to my son so I'll still own the safe and maybe one day I'll bring it to the new house but right now it's bolted down and secured so I feel good about where it's at. As long as I can get a new safe curb side delivered at my new place I'm good.

Very nice looking safe! That's a little out of my price range.. not exactly sure what my price range is but I'm pretty sure it's not 5K! Any concerns with hinges on the outside?

It has 10 bolts, 6 being active. The hinges being cut off wouldn't allow access.

Here’s the last safe I bought. Wife is still waiting for me to move it out of the bedroom.
Happy with it so far.

That's a nice size safe for my own needs. I only have 2 9mms but a lot of ammo. I have a small safe just big enough for the 2 pistols. I can't quite justify spending a lot of money on a floor safe. But if I were to get one, that's the size I'd probably get. It would nicely stash my ammo and magazines.

Do they make safes like this for pistols (no long guns)?

I'm sure somebody does. Just take a look around.

I don’t think they (Stack-on) makes safes this size specifically for handguns, BUT... the shelving is easily adjustable so you could place them in accordance with your needs quite effectively.

I went with a Liberty Fatboy. Visit one of their stores to get a real price.

I added the light kit , goldenrod and the door organizer and delivery.

Like most gun “safes” it is a great residential security container that would be a challenge to get into so I have alarms and insurance as a second level of assurance. So as long as your choice appears to be comparable standard, you are probably good to go.

If you don't mind a drive, or if there isn't one closer, there is a Liberty warehouse in Norcross, Ga that routinely has ridiculous deals. Holidays and end of season deals are normally abundant. They also have some crazy deals on used, discontinued and blemished to boot. They had a Fatboy Jr 48 for $850 back at Labor Day for instance. They offer 0% too for folks who are smart with there money and like to take advantage.

Friend bought a fingerprint scanning safe. Doesn't work that well. Sometimes doesn't read the prints well and in a hurry, would be detrimental.
