On the OP topic.

If it doesn't outperform the ZL1LE on track then it's a fail for sure.

I'm waiting to see. I love my '14 to death. But dying to see what the '20 will be. If it's cool, I'll be trying to find a way to get one.

I think the base will be in the $70's, optioned up well into $80s, which is crazy for a stang, but if it's a 'world beater' then the price is fair territory. Counting the days …..

It's stupid fast in a variety of directions.

I rewatched some videos on the GT last night, there was one by Doug where he goes 20 minutes on the minutia.

Ford Performance can make the gt500 pretty ****ing incredible if they don’t get their hands too tied up by accounting for tons of base model factory appointments.

I’d be fine with a $100-125k KR variant that is very done up with active aero, bigger brakes, some composite materials, an extra 50-100hp, etc.

The s197 KR was what, like $90k? 540hp and chassis tuning? Regular gt500 was $50k for 500hp, regulars chassis tune etc.

Will never happen, but my point is Ford can make a hell of a gt500 if they didn’t have ceilings/budgets to keep in mind

It has potential for 140mph trap speeds if it makes 700whp and ~weighs 3950-4100lbs.

7spd dct will do wonders.

The 3300lbs full downforce GT does 135+ with 550-575whp and 3300lbs

Any trap of 130mph or higher as delivered from Ford would be amazing.
I’ll take it from there :)
Really want to try a DCT in this car, so I hope I’m satisfied.

Dude, put the pipe down. A 4000+ lb car with 7XX hp is not going 145 mph in the quarter.

I said if 700whp and 3900-4150lbs, 140. I stand by it. I don’t think it’ll make 700whp factory though.

The car will probably make 630-675whp if it’s rated from 720-775hp.

I’ll keep my pipe, excuse me while I light my pipe. My point was that if it makes 700whp stock, it has 140 in it. I think it’ll hit 130-135 in magazine hands. Demons do 125-138 in mag hands so far. Privately they’ve hit 141 iirc.

In my hands a new gt500 will hit 160 in the quarter because I’ll give it some whiskey

That's not what you said before you edited it.

Correct, caveat, I posted that 3+ hours ago, and edited it about 1-2 min after.

You quoted it 2 hours later. Well after I’d edited it. It is possible you saw my post about my older 756whp cobra doing 141 with a t56 but that was up for all of 2 minutes or so.

In any extent, I edited that post to simply my message.

I quoted it literally one minute after you posted it. Check again.
