I like them both, but the big selling point in the Edge is the room inside. It has tons of room... Front and back.

If the Jeep had as much, I bet we would own one.

Ok, funny story. Some friends of ours were up from Cali visiting and so we got together, gave them a tour of our house build and the property. We decided to go to lunch and since we have the new car, we all piled in it. Conversation turned to the vehicle and I told them we had considered the Jeep GC as well as this edge. The wife of my buddy replied "oh, are they making them good now?"

These are not car people. Just goes to show what reputation that Jeep/Chrysler/Fiat has.

It's a jeep thing, you (and I) wouldn't understand.

No just shows ignorance. Being brand loyal is the most idiotic thing. I bet they haven't driven a modern FCA product. People are stuck 20 years ago. Ford/GM/Dodge all built shitty cars back then. They all make some good products now.

I've owned so many cars over the years GM is the only one I had issues with.

I've had one issue with my Charger, and it's been on going but it's nothing I'd expect anyone to have and I'm dealing with it. Could have happened on any car.

At the end of the day, if you're happy that's all that matters. But in a crowded SUV/CUV market there is more than the JGC and the Edge.

But the stigma is still there.
People are funny. I used to work with a guy who was anti Ford. One day I asked him what his problem with Ford products was. Come to find out, he had an old ww2 Jeep made by Ford that gave him trouble. That set in his mind that all of them were crap.

Loved loved loved my edge! Comfortable, good size for me, handled nicely and had plenty of power. I’ve convinced two friends to buy one and they love them too. Fortunately I nor my friends haven’t run into mechanical problems like the ones mentioned here. I have no insight on the GC drivablility but I did sit in one at an auto show and they are very nice.

No, they don't. True, they all made shitty products back then. Ford is the only one that improved their quality significantly. The other two still build trash.
You’re just closed minded it’s ok though.

For years I said I’d never buy a dodge/ram/Jeep product. I made all the tired jokes about the transmission issues blah blah blah.

I’ve spent the past 15 years in collision repair and get a great sample size of all makes and models to see how they drive, how the build quality is, and most importantly how they hold up as I see them with normal use and mileage.

In the past 5 years FCA has made leaps and bounds better quality vehicles then the public wants to believe because people by nature are like sheep and follow hear say with little to no first hand experience.

I’d put the quality of the ram I just bought up against any top tier f150 or GMC truck any day. They all have their pluses and minuses.

Buy what ever makes one happy but to limit yourself to one brand only is a sure way to miss out on a whole lot of stellar vehicles.

I've had a loaded GC overland 5.7 for over a year now and it's been s fantastic vehicle for me. Much better than the loaded Edge I drove. Just my 2 cents though.
