Hello all,

Looking for advice feom all of you.....

I have a 2011 GT500 and had the roush axle back.

Loved the sound in made with stock manifolds and stock catted h pipe. No drone in 6th gear at 80mph either.

Now here comes the issue.

Just finished the install of kooks 1 3/4 l9ng tubes with the hi flow green catted x pipe.

The roush still have tje great idle and very little drone, but anything past 1/2 throttle makes my ears bleed

So..................i put on the kooks axle backs i also had.........great sound, great idle, but at 80 in 6th is drones like a mother f'er!!!!!!

Soooooooooo...............i put on the stock gt500 axle backs. Zero drone and it sounds decent when you are on the gas wide open, but the idle sound lacks quite a bit and is a little shall i say quiet.

So help from all of You is needed.

Is there an axle back that will give me that roush idle sound, sound healthy but not eqr piercing when i am on it, and not dro e at 80mph in 6th when i take a trip to vehas for 4 hours?

Thanks all in advance

Magnaflow streets! Tame at idle/cruising, but WOT they scream. I’ll be selling a set soon, as I’m converting my car to 14 rear bumper and quad tip exhaust.
Pm if interested can send a video of them on car.

My experience with long tubes and no cats was with Borla Tourings, which is the tamest muffler Borla offers. It was okay at idle and light throttle, but more aggressive throttle and it had quite a bark. So much so, I put my stock mufflers back on. I've since installed 3" diameter 18" long Vibrant resonators just after the mid pipe and reinstalled the Borlas. It's no worse than with the OEM mufflers.

Borla touring, ford performance touring, magnaflow street axleback and corsa sports are all the most tame exhaust systems in respect to their brand name. Corsa exhaust systems produce a tone that contains a bit more rasp than the other exhaust systems. Borla and magnaflow both produce a very mellow tone that is deep and throaty at idle. With the x pipe they tend to get higher pitched as rpms ascend.

I would say with what you've done the Magnaflows will be LOUD and drone where Borla or Ford Performance Tourings will be much more mellow!!;)

Your long tubes and "X-pipe" are a recipe for LOUD!!

I stuck w my factory cat-back w Longtubes and h-pipe. Almost zero gain from aftermarket cat-backs and as you’ve found they are very loud at WOT. Money saved IMHO.

Either borla S types or corsa sports would probably be your best bet to meet your volume needs. I had both and the borla s types sound way better than the corsa sports imo but both were loud on start up and idle and neither one droned.
