Obviously ceramic coating hotside to keep heat in.

is it worth ceramic coating cold side to keep engine bay temps out and colder air in?

cold side will be all 3" aluminum, hot side is mostly mild steel that will be ceramic coated inside and out.

Thanks in advance!

Ceramic coat all of your piping, hot and cold. It’s a thermal barrier. It stops heat transfer.
There are also thermal shedding coatings that aid in disipating heat.

Don't do the cold side if you want to dissipate the heat from the piping. The coating will hold any heat in which is not what you want to do on the cold side. Aluminum is great at dissipating heat to keep the piping cool which is what you want.

I did my hot side, was only going to be $300. Then I asked what it would be for the full exhaust, guy was surprised then said $800. Did it. We used Jethot coating.

Now my return fuel lines don’t get too hot in stop and go summer traffic, or at the staging lanes in the drag strip.

I can touch the tailpipes after hard runs. It’s nice. We had the car on the dyno for tuning on high boost, and right after the pulls where it made 1200whp, we raised the dyno, and checked for any looseness/anything out of order. All was good/right/tight. Maybe a minute had passed, and we were laughing that we could grab the 3” exhaust piping. It’s 2-3” away from my feed and return fuel lines so it was a no brainer to go coated. Plus, very hard to rust, tarnish or wear out as fast.

I've always gone with Ceramic the hotside and left the cold side alone or powdercoated it. No real advantage to ceramic on the cold side
