Thought I would share. I started mile racing in 2009; been to several Texas Miles and once to the Arkansas Mile. Blown at least 3 engines and never had a clean pass. Then, I found M2K Motorsports. They built the car for the latest event; can't say enough good things about those guys. Their work is great, and the car has never been stronger.

Made two runs: the first was a 190 MPH pass to get my class A license, and the second we ran 198.2 MPH. Not wanting to hurt my new motor, I decided to call it good and try again in March or October 2019. My cut-outs didn't work, which is worth some power, and I think we can put some more boost to it.

The Mile folks got a good video of the run at 28:00.

Here it is with the 198 MPH bugs and brake dust returning to the pits.

And here's the team, including lady friend and mother (sister working the camera). Can't do this stuff without a ton of support.

And the decals, which the lady friend picked out.

Thanks for sharing! Mile event is something I definitely would like to get into. You car sounds great!

What changes did M2K Motorsports for the event?

Did any of the engines blow during a mile event?

Ha 132 in the quarter on what is basically street prep and tires is great!

Congrats man!

Is the 820 in your sig the current setup? Looks like a 3.4 at least under there with that big upper pulley?

Nice!

You've spent a lot of time on good power, but if you want to get crazy, there is a ton of opportunity in aero work sitting on the table that I can see from your pics. Personal choice though. You would definitely have to molest the body and I honestly wouldn't do it to a Cobra, but not everyone feels the same.

Seen you run last year I believe. Not a whole lot of Screamin Yellow Cobras out there. ;) Whats your combo?

M2K rebuilt the motor that I blew at the Arkansas Mile. Here's a video of that fun:

They also re-did my intercooler system (new, bigger in-trunk tank and fancy pump), fuel system, and tune. On their recommendation, I had Fox Lake do fully-built heads and install some cams.

Yes; I've blown several motors at Texas and Arkansas Mile events.

The car has 2.73 gears in the rear end. Believe it or not, it doesn't slow it down much on the street.

I think the car makes around 830 rwhp right now. M2K dyno'd it, but I don't have the sheet handy. I also think I'm around 21 psi, which is down from the 25 psi I used to run. The setup is a built stroker motor, including Fox Lake-built heads and some off-the-shelf cams with a 3.4 L Whipple with Crusher inlet on top.

I've thought about aero mods, but, like said, I do not want to mess with the exterior of the car. It's not gutted in the least. All I lost was the rear speakers for the roll cage.

Thanks all for the compliments!

Here's a picture of the car clean before it's fateful run at the Arkansas Mile:

Why did the engines let loose? Lean condition? Sounds like it cut out.

I would strongly suggest a AEM failsafe that could save you before it leans.

Nice runs and congrats on the last one

The tires are Hoosier R7s, which I believe are what most of the really fast guys run. I buy a new set every year ($$ ouch).

As far as motors, this has to be the 6th or 7th in car. Not really sure why they let go; I do know that a few of the injectors during the Arkansas mile were later found to be out-of-spec. I'll look into the failsafe for sure!

These motors do not like sustained high-speed runs. Was a common problem even when these cars were new. I told some guys I met at the mile who also had an 03-04 Cobra to watch out for the car nosing over in 5th; their car did, but they let out and will live to fight another day.

Awesome, great to see you running your Cobra like that. You have a nice car and now are going in the proper direction with your engine prep. What radiator are you running and have you had any cooling related issues?

How does it feel at that speed? I remeber getting mine in the 150mph range once (in Mexico) and that was the last time I ever did that. I could feel the air lifting the car.

You going to the Arkansas mile this year? I am going to ride out and watch an event before I participate in one.

Wow, nearly 200. Well done, you should be proud.
Any idea how much $$$ you have spent building all the engines?
