I purchased a set of MMR OPG and Crank Sprocket over black friday to install with my Vortech v3. I have read a few different things online about the pick up tubes. Some say over 500hp you should add it others say 600 hp. I expect to make 550 - 600 hp with my new setup so it would make sense to replace it as apart of the OPG install (2 birds 1 stone). What is everyone thoughts? Is this needed?

My answer is not a good one because I have no experience with using an aftermarket oil pickup, but I couldn't imagine it being useful unless you were building a really high hp motor that is really beaten on (raced regularly). I mean OPG and crank gear are no brainers for a forced induction car but I'm sure most boosted coyotes using the stock motor haven't upgraded the oil pickup, including myself. It definitely wouldn't hurt, but there are plenty of people making over 800 rwhp on the stock motor (gen 2 coyote) that have not touched the oil pickup or even done OPG's. Like I said before though, If you are upgrading the OPG and crank gear and want to upgrade the oil pickup too, it wouldn't be that much more costly.

The MMR Hi Flow tube is a nice upgrade, most cars pick up 5-10psi of oil pressure at high rpm, this can really help extend engine life among other things. Also cars with Turbo's or engine oil fed superchargers really benefit from this because they lose a few lbs of oil pressure by feeding the turbo/supercharger.
