Would you consider this to be an 03-04 Cobra?

I always see people getting flamed for putting the snake emblem on a GT or v6 99-04 Mustang. Or basically trying to make it look like a Terminator Cobra.

But what if someone took an 03-04 Cobra and put GT/V6 (Base Model) bumpers, side skirts, side mirrors, side scoops, hood & wing... but left everything else the same. Just for the hell of it, they decided to do this.

It would still have a vin# authenticating it a Cobra. However, would cobra owners not consider this a cobra anymore? Just a random thought.

A ruined Cobra. I don't know anyone in their right mind who would do something like that, but for the sake of just it being a random thought, it still has the cobra bones... power plant, IRS, so on and so forth. Just a Cobra with a really crappy appearance package.

If the VIN is an 03-04 Cobra, then it's a Cobra no matter what the outside looks like. Hell it could be turbo LS powered too, just needs the right VIN.

I’ve thought about do that and making a bad ass sleeper out of it. Would surprise and upset a lot of the purist. I’d also call it a termi too.

I got a kick out of passing a GT the other day, his car had a snake on the front, my Terminator has the mustang.

My sentiment exactly. I wouldn't do it, but can see someone trying to make a sleeper out of it. I don't agree with that, but can see that point of view.

Doesn't make any sense though. Like getting a trophy wife and making her fat on purpose.

Now that's funny right there......... Now no one else will want her. Good thinking....NOT LMAO!!!!

Okay, where's the thumbs down button? I always say, if I were a judge at a car show and I see a Chevy engine in a Ford vehicle I would NEVER give that person an award LMAO!!!! Blasphemy !!!!

I'n not saying I agree with it, I hate that every old Ford has a Chevy 350 in it. My point was simply that the car itself is still an 03-04 Cobra.

Here is a setup that is sure to get some peoples pants in a bunch. Former record setting terminator recently switched to LS power...

Cheaper. Nothing more than that. Ford motors cost more. But ford motors always seem to out perform the GM motors with displacement being equal.

I understand your thought, but I have to disagree with the analogy used here. Remember, you’re not changing the performance characteristics of the car at all.

Making you’re wife fat would surely change her physical abilities to perform certain tasks vs someone not.

Why would you do that to a Cobra? Why make something into something it is not??? I really don't understand that!!!!!

Because you’d be unsuspecting to 99% of the “Mustang enthusiasts” community.

Sleeper?...No thanks. The looks of the car are a big draw for me. Without the body panels being correct, it would just be an abortion of a car. Hard pass.

How much do the “cobra” looks matter to you? Give your answer in percentages.

That's comparable to defacing a national monument!

Seems like the looks on the car are what everyone really care about then. No body likes the interior or engine or trans as much :( poor Cobra. Because I see those being changed a dime a dozen.
