Florida finally got the memo that it's fall and we had our first decent front come through, weather conditions can be found in the video.Car was running strong but the track prep was not good. Not only were they not prepping much but the street tire cars (about 70 of them) just destroyed what little bit was there.

Even with that said, I was making headway and chipping away at the 60 until someone broke and this caused a downward spiral. We all waited in line for over 4 hours before we got what ended up being our last run but by this time, the track was straight garbage.

11.00 at 128 is freaking stout! Soooo close to 10s that it makes you wish you removed 10lbs from the car before the pass.

Thanks! And I don't think removing anything else would have helped, really just needed the track to work just a SMIDGE better.

Very nice. Have to love NA cars rolling out.
Thanks! So much fun and so reliable.

I've been strongly considering LT's, cams and a 5c stall. This makes that all the more tempting, nice work!!
Do it. Auto cars with the same mods and a stall are deep in the 10's, much easier to make the auto's work at the track.

Great run! Stock stall seems to be working ok for you but I assume you could cut some even better 60's if you had a stall. What tires? That launch was pretty high, like 5k rpm clutch drop?

I would be curious what you are dynoing to cut that 128 mph!!

My car is a manual and the launch rpm was about 5k but I had to slip the clutch a lot and it still spun. It was a high 1.6x sixty foot, the car is normally bottom 1.5’s. It also dyno’d 480rwhp/393tq

sorry, have my mind on stall converters lately; I knew it was a manual because I saw the clutch drop. Sorry, working too much lately...

Great MPH for the rwhp! that N/A HP goes a lot further than boosted HP!

Nice pass with the man pedal. What is your trap rpm? looked to be a tick over 7 which seems a bit low for your combo.

pretty sure I was there that night when the N/T hooptie dropped coolant down the whole track. I lost my shit around 10pm and went home after blowing the tires off on 2 passes in the left lane.

Yeah, its passing around 71-7200 right now with the 3.31’s. I have 3.73’s going in and will be stepping up to a 27” tire vs the 26” I run currently. The 3.73/27” combo should put me through the traps around 7900 rpm and give me a few hundred RPM to play with.

This is the reason I am tempted to trade my cobra for a 2011 and up 5.0. The problem is i go to dealer auctions and I can buy a 2011-2014 so cheap. I could have bought a 2012 with cloth brembo's and 3.73s the car had 80 some thousand miles and I could have bought it for 11-12k they sold it for 11400 and i believe the guy that bought it was done bidding at 11500. So if i did find someone to trade with I would need cash and their car, but I really would like to trade for a gt500 or boss302. Any way congrats on the pass 10 years ago who would have thought we would have cars right off the car lot running in the 11's let alone 10' and 9's its crazy.

if you get a 2011-2012, get a light weight. the 300a cars are light. mine weighed 3480 stock off the showroom. get a base model, and the brembos add weight. a lot of weight. my car weighs less than 3400 now with just basic mods, and not really any purpose weight reduction. the car needs 3.90s. i have stock 3.73s.

a coyote can just plain make power with the correct mods. the right mods are critical. i make more power than all of the coyotes in my area on bryant brothers dyno. the 410 rwtq is as much ad 55 ft-lbs more than other CJ cars here

BTW OP carbd, im tracking the car for the first time this spring. i have DD tires that hook. IMO your 60' should be 1.3-1.4 with that power. you are losing 10's in the first 60'. i would put bias plys on it and set the rear LCAs to raise your instant center as high as you can. mine are in the bottom hole. cars with 40 rwhp less are running your times. i fully expect 6.9x out of my car this spring. i am running bias ply tires for DD. N50-15 tires are 325/50-15. these tires are what big block chevys used in the 70s but these have modern compounds. at 16 psi these will wrinkle. you need medium stiff slicks. you have 35 rwhp more than me.

I’m aware of what the car needs. With bolt ons it was bottom 1.5 sixty foots consistently and ran close to the same ET (with A LOT less Mph/power) but the way the car makes power now doesn’t work with the 3.31’s. I just put 3.90’s in it yesterday and stepped up to a 28” tire, going to lower instant center because it’s actually shocking the tires entirely too hard as I already have the arms on the second to last hole of the LCA brackets.

Interested to see how it does with those changes. Should help it out a decent amount.

After driving the car for this last week, it feels completely different, going to work with the power range this car runs in perfectly I think. The gear splits changed a tad for the better, especially the split between 2nd and 3rd gear. Breaking the gears in for another week and I'll be testing it all out before hitting NMRA in Bradenton.
