As far as fuel... after researching and trying to find answers. Phrases like “max rwhp for gt500 on 93 is between 700-750” but where Can I find that? Not vehicle specific but definitely fuel specific I’ve seen other models Camaro”s, Hellcat”s with stock internals push 850 -900 no specific number on 93.
Now with that said, if you have a built motor MMR, JDM and max it out with everything Whipple, KB, what says at X amount of boost and X hp you need this fuel. If you have a built motor does that mean you can now use 93 at X hp only if it’s built?

Now I understand when they say no 10% Lower and 2.4 upper on 93 but why?
I’m just learning all there is about fuel so I know there’s experts out there that will help.

If your motor is built and can handle high boost, how are they able to on 93 pump?

As far as fuel additives go is torco the only one that needs a tune ? I wasn’t really trying to use them but I guess since it’s not a daily it should be fine I would just have to use the entire tank once I add it. Don’t want to put th car up with additives still in it.

With no e85 in a 50 mile radius :(:( I’ve exhausted all options even as far as looking into buying a 55 gallon drum to store it which makes me nervous with its shelf life.

They made 950rwhp on 93 and octane booster.
Me personally, wouldnt recommend using 93 octane on high hp car.

The limitation on fuel comes down to knock, the higher the octane the more resistance to knock. So, if you have a knock sensor you may be able to push those numbers around but on older cars 07-09 we have no idea.
Not sure if all tuners do this but on a dyno you can use a knock sensor and tune accordingly. Fortunately there is knock monitors like J&S vampire, and to me its worth its weight in gold.

While boost also increases the chances of knock, engine internals can let go because of boost alone. So a built motor will not destroy itself but its still susceptible to knock.

Knock is generally what kills these motors assuming you’re within the HP limits of your internal components. To put it simply you must have enough octane to support your combination of boost, compression, IATs, and timing.

As all these variables increase, the quality of your fuel must do the same. More boost, more compression and more timing require more octane.

So I’m looking at ordering the JDM 1200 hp kit and doing injectors and cams at the same time. My question I guess with timing, knock, heat, boost. Is it worth going this route if I only have access to 93 octane?

Can I add all this and my tuner “de tune” it to 750/750? Not sure what the L&M NSR or BPS race cams add hp wise but I’m already at 687/722.

Not including I have yet to install full exhaust LTs back.

Sure, your tuner will dial timing back to something safe. My 93 octane tune is LOW timing....about 14*.

As to whether or not it's worth it, that's your call. Who doesn't love a great sounding set of cams? You'll pick up some nice power even on 93 octane, but you won't even come close to the potential limits of the build. That said, 800rwhp on a street car is no joke. I don't feel like I need more than that on the street. Get a race gas tune for track days and you're all set.

I definitely want the sound! My 2006 GTO had a cam ls2 and it sounded nasty. Just figured since I’m opening the engine up mine as well do everything at once.

Being 93 limited to 800 rwhp is discouraging as these cars can make huge power with only a blower swap. I plan on going VMP G3 and having a race gas tune to 850-900 and 93 to 750-800 or something lol.
