Okay my question is what is the real difference in rear shocks for 03-04 cobra vs a 99-04 gt? Ive read the gt shocks will bolt in to a cobra but the valving is different. Is this true? Can you use gt rear shocks on a cobra? Need help? My car is setup for straight line.

Yes, the shocks are valved different between the IRS and SRA. If you're running an SRA you can probably run the GT shocks.

I run the bilstein b8 rear shocks. I was told these are similar to what the 2000 cobra R's have. Seems to work well with h&r race springs.

I'd never want to run a gt shock on a irs cobra.

Great info already posted here.....but also keep in mind, 03/04 cobra coupe vs vert is also different. The spring rate and factory bilstein valving is different, and so are the part numbers. If you are looking for coupe valving, and make a WTB thread....make sure you get hooked up with the coupe strut/shock part number or you'll be completely mismatched if someone sells you vert #s.

Read this----> Suspension

The IRS shocks are specific since they taper at the bottom to clear the trailing links and control arm. Should be common knowledge.
