@GT Premi you know how to get computers puting lol.

I think you need to drive another from another dealer, considering how long the one you drove had been sitting did you really expect to be wowed?

Surprised the Trackhawk wasn't as good as you mentioned.

I can say that the Porsche's are meh to me. The owners of my company both have newer (2016+) Macan GTS's and Cayenne GTS's along with a Turbo Panamera.

So far, the Cayenne in two years of ownership has been in the shop at least 10 plus times. We always here them complaining about sensors going bad, brake issues, car not starting sometimes, etc. Always small and stupid things. Those cars are sub $100,000 and for that kind of money, it better be super reliable.

Have you considering the Durango SRT? Cheaper than the Trackhawk, quick, nice looks and is sounds awesome.

My R/T beats the owner's 1,000LB lighter Macan GTS and one instance, hung with the GTS until we started passing 50 MPH, but, again, Cayenne/Macan are much smaller and lighter.

They look awesome, drive awesome, but, when there is a problem, they are truly expensive to fix.

Wifey loves her 18 R/T. Truck moves pretty well for being so big. Transmission is TITS

Trackhawk is the coolest of the hellcat vehicles.

Also, my brother in law has a Cayenne turbo, a 2006. It is actually still fairly impressive power wise for a 12 year old SUV, and it's extremely tight, feels like a 4 year old car.

I imagine the new ones will be impressive.

Glad to hear it

Only downside of mine, the transmission likes to downshift hard when I'm breaking and sometimes when I nail it, it gets confused and doesn't downshift to the proper gear. It seems to be a very common issue on the forums with 15-16 R/T's.

Otherwise, I love the truck. Hang's with a lot of cars light to light, looks good, packs the entire family and sounds awesome. MPG is meh, but, hence my license plate "MPG LOL" :)

Different strokes.

Op I would drive a used on with some miles. It being brand new means it most likely wasn’t past the break in period.

I drove a 14 SRT8 and liked it. Moved out well for a SUV. I still prefer the 06-10’s though. Interiors are trash but they look mean imo. Still want one.

Honestly, yeah. I did expect to be wowed. I thought they had simply disconnected the battery to keep the Looky Lous from coming in and running it down with the doors open. I didn't know it had been sitting that long until the salesman went to start it, and the battery was as flat as the spots on its tires.

Many don't remember that I was actually looking forward to buying a Trackhawk way back when it was first introduced. So I was wanting to be wowed by it. I can believe that it possibly wasn't bringing all 707HP to bear. I don't know about the '13/'14, but the '11/'12 GT500 had a similar "feature". It didn't release all the power until after the first 50 miles on the odometer or the first 15 (or something like that) engine starts. Whether the Trackhawk did or didn't have all the power, the amount of NVH was still a big issue.

I think you should admit that flat spotted tires plus pre-break in that its not neccessarily as bad as you originally thought, try another one IMO

I'm just sitting here thinking; what the heck can you tow with those things? A tiny lawn mower trailer, haha.

The Cherokee is small. It is not a full sized SUV in relation to other options. I like Excursions, Tahoes, and Suburban though.

I own a Grand Cherokee. The vehicle is designed to be a daily driver with off road capabilities. It has a sharp turning radius, and will climb a Mustang with ease (my daughter proved that point).

The Trackhawk is an amazing vehicle. I'm not sure what happened with the OP's test drive, but I'm pretty sure tires with flat spots will shake everything.

Yes, there is drive train noise. It is a Jeep wrapped around a Hellcat drive train. I personally love to hear the blower whine and exhaust.

I have yet to drive a Trackhawk, but I did ride in one with a friend that wanted to show off his new toy. I stepped out of the vehicle with a big grin on my face.

...... what do you intend to tow with this thing?

20' Malibu Wakesetter or a Chaparral 23 H2O Surf.

The Cayenne has a 7500 lbs tow rating. The Trackhawk has a 7200 lbs tow rating. So they can both pull a nice sized boat or home improvement materials. I can't remember the GLE63 S's tow rating, but I believe it's in the same ballpark.

Yep, back when I bought my SRT I test drove one at a local dealer and you could tell they have 87 in the thing. Told them to put the correct gas in it and I'd come drive it the next day.....it supposedly sold later in the day so I never go to drive it the next day.

Me personally i wouldnt be pulling a 20ft boat with a small short wheel base unibody SUV. Although it may have enough power to pull it there is a "tail wagging the dog effect," and it will be super unstable if you get into a cross wind, heavy braking or emergency maneuver.

Those maximum tow ratings involve some mathematical gymnastics to publish a big number that's not realistic. You will exceed max tongue weight, rear axle rating and/or payload easily before achieving 7,200lbs.

You really need to be looking at full size SUVs or pickups if you need that much tow capacity. The base model GC has a tow capacity of like 3,500lbs and it has the exact same chassis as the trackhawk. That ought to tell you something.

I’m not sure I would choose any of the OP’s choices as a luxury tow vehicle.

I would lean toward a diesel truck or a tricked out expedition or suburban with a killer interior, lots of torque, a solid transmission cooler and a covered bed for all of the boat toys, instead of a sporty vehicle.

Or leave your boat in a boat house nearby or get a house with a dock and buy whatever sports car you want. It’s nice to call the guy and find your boat waiting for you.

Bless your heart for wanting to tow things of substance with German luxury. I don't wish out of warranty transmission work on German cars on anyone.

Yea not sure I’d want to tow that size boat with the JGC or any of the mentioned vehicles. I’d go full size suv or truck at that point as well
