I think it's time for more boost.

So I have my XBA setup dialed in and I put a set of triple pod gauges in the car with a real boost gauge and I'm only seeing 14 psi with just a 2.39 upper, (seems kinda low). So I'm going to do a 10% lower as well. I figure I run MS100 full time so I won't have any issues.

For guys running a upper and lower what PSI are you seeing?

I ran a digital boost gauge (AEM) that didn’t read correctly on my 2.39/trinity blower 2007 GT500.

Was reading low too.

I put a mechanical gauge on it and it then read 15.5 or so.

I tested the autometer boost gauge I'm running with a vacuum/boost pump and it's pretty much spot on, maybe one 1 psi off. Either way I think the 10% lower will be a good upgrade especially with the fuel I run

Those LT Headers drop you 3 psi in Boost?

What numbers are you shooting for/hoping for?
I'm going for 750whp.

I doubt that, the LT headers and 2.39 upper were already on the car when I bought it. With the factory boost gauge I'm seeing 16psi, but that isn't accurate. That's why I wanted a real boost gauge.

I'm running both upper and lower 10%, seeing 20-21Psi on the factory boost gauge, and the car made 732rwhp/757rwtq on a mix of 93 pump gas + a can of Boostane.

Awesome to hear, those are the kinda numbers I'm going for as well, do you have headers? And are you still running the stock clutch?

ARH LT & O/R X, the stock clutch lasted for long time until it gave up early this year, now I’m running the RXT 1200.

Great to hear, I'm still on my stock clutch, the car has 7,600 miles on it so I should still get some more life out of it. Thanks for the info.

you are welcome.

I think as long as you don't overload it with burnouts and hard launches it should last for a very long time, mine started slipping after few burnouts at a rolling race event :D

Why are you nibbling around the edges...? You know you're going to end up with another 3.6LC Kenne Bell...

Stock clutch experiences seem to vary widely. Mine is still going strong with almost 27K miles on it, making 733RWHP/713RWTQ for the past two years and 6K-7K miles. (I've logged about 35 1/2-mile and 1-mile race passes on it, including about six 1/2-mile passes after the power upgrade.) A friend, with similar power mods, made 4-5 race passes when his car had only about 5K miles on it, and his clutch was done.

Hey Norton, if you dont mind me asking, what bolt-on, power modifications have you made to get to that 733rwhp level? Thats what Id like to get to but a little short now.

I don't mind at all... I pieced together (what amounts to) a VMP STAGE 4 Power Pack (JLT 127mm CF CAI, CFM Twin Jet 67mm TB, VMP 2.4" Upper, 90mm Idler, BPS Oversized & Ported Plenum/Elbow, and NGK TR7-IX plugs). I added those to a previously installed VMP Triple Pass-Dual Fan Heat Exchanger and Reische 170' Thermostat, and had her dyno-tuned by Elite Performance And Tuning in Littleton, CO. (My numbers are, of course, SAE-corrected.)

I think the guys that are at high altitude are having better luck as their dyno numbers are 20-25% higher than what the car is putting out.

Your correction factor was 26% to get you to the 733 sae sea level numbers. Your car way only putting out 585 on the dyno.

Ok, well we are close actually. My last Dyno runs were 715hp/729tq. Our differences are, Im running 3.73 gear and off road X-Pipe whereas you have the upgraded cooling mods. We have the same intakes/pulleys/throttle body etc...

Im at 700' ft elevation.

I used to live in Denver and would drive back/forth to S.C on occassion. Always loved hitting Kansas and Mizzouri because the car always picked up the horsepower coming down from elevation.lol.

As much as I want another 3.6KB it's just not in the cards with having a family now. That's a 10k upgrade. I'm just annoyed I'm only seeing 14psi with a 2.39 upper, so hopefully with a 10% lower I'll be around 17 to 18psi, or I'll just do E85. I can't decide what I want to do lol. My stock clutch is doing good but like you said, it's hard to say how long it will last.
