Got the rest of primer done and initial black coat on.
Also got dads quad starter relay on and quick once over done, and mounted snow plow.

Well all the things are black, bushings are in, new u bolts purchased, new leaf spring/shackle bolts purchased.

And I have my old man coming to help wiggle all of it back under truck Tommorow.

Turns out talking with local driveline shop they have had more then one truck come in for repairs after guys replaced springs and not the bolts!
They backed off again, in one case after the owner checked torque twice!
Was over 2000 miles after repair.

I would have been added to that list.
I’ve never claimed to be a mechanic, but it is sure nice to still have some local shops that go the extra mile in giving you knowledge you didn’t even ask for.

Because of that little helper the shop will now be doing all the U joints and the alignment check after I’m done. Little bit for a little bit.

U bolts never.

But the leaf spring/shackle bolts I wouldn’t have thought twice about it.

Apparently a lot of the newer trucks fasteners are torque to yield or one time use equivalent. Learned something....even through the whiskey haze

Well got everything finished up finally.

Rear driveshaft has all new u joints and steady bearing( gave in and had shop do that part).

Took it in for alignment check and the front was out lol. So I guess I did ok.

Also put a battery tender on.

All that’s left is diff oil and parking brakes, be doing full rear brake replace in spring anyway so left my fairly new parking brake shoes out for now. Save some rust on them. Also cables are absurdly priced. $180/ side. wasn’t in the budget for now.

Also changed it over to T6 and Archoil.

And did both fuel filters.

I guess an injector crapped out on mine or maybe wiring. Threw a code for #6 imbalance then later a low voltage or something like that on #6. I changed it over to t6 and some Walmart stiction stuff and fuel filters to see If that would help, but no go.

Gotta get some stuff out of the shop so I can do the head gaskets and whatever else this winter. Hope there's not much more than gaskets wrong cause I'm broke.

Oh man that sucks.

Take your time these girls can be fickle.

Make sure to double and triple check all the systems and parts since you have it apart for gaskets.

Looking at the Warren Injectors. Anyone have any thoughts on them?

I’ve heard good things.
But they do make you run a certain type of oil otherwise no warranty.

I would be speaking with Rudy’s diesel.

I believe they are the fastest 6.0 around.
Whatever brand they run should hold up to street duty.
