Man, I feel for you. Makes me wonder if something wasn't done correctly on the second install. Dealer would normally reach out to Ford Engineering to get help on an issue as you described. Can't believe they would hand the car back over to you knowing the cranking problem....and admit that to you. Also, were the original catalytic converters replaced as well after the 1st failure? If they were badly damaged by all the extra oil, maybe they are plugged and/or damaged?

Have you tried contacting Ford directly about your experience? I think you would have a legit case for a buy back. Maybe engage a lawyer to see if it's worth pursuing? When you purchase a $70K plus car (CDN $$), it's not exactly chump change.

You might want to consider another dealer. Good luck and keep us posted on how things go.

THEY did new cats, exhaust exchanger and clutch and engine on the 1st fail. On this replacement they said it was all good minus the motor. Called my dealer and had the serv manager start a claim with ford mo co service which indicates the car is not repairable and had requested them to tell them i wanna be compensated. $52,000 later still have a car that doesn’t work right. No long crank issues prior to this replacement.

If they try burning me then I’ll get a lawyer and take it to court and sue.

I'm curious, what was the reason for the replacement of the clutch assembly?
Just a lemon, I have no explanation. 2nd motor replacement just went in and the car has long cranks before it fires up. They installed the new motor and it didn’t crank over x2. Happened 4x to me. They can’t fix it. Started a compensation process with ford. Maybe ford will be accountable. If not the lawyer and courts can figure it out.

$23,000 later, new engine and the car doesn’t start properly ****ing joke I tell ya hahahahahaha, back in the shop tomm. last Ford I ever buy. These assholes dont even have enough accountability to buy it back. Spends more time in the shop than on the road. as per the tech on the first or second attempt it didn’t turn over at all after all the installation work was done. And now it starts like shit. Now that’s shelby quality.

Holy Crap that sucks man. So sorry!

How do you install a long block so incorrectly to make it burn oil?

400km on the car and I find engine oil on the floor of my garage. Open the hood and the engine oil caps off with oil everywhere. Blue smoke on the inside of the car. Back to ford and still not cranking over right. Engine is probably contaminated from the dusty roads where I live. FML, so done with the car.

Oh man, you've had a rough go. Sorry buddy. I take it the dealer didn't secure the cap when filling it? I actually though those long blocks came pre-filled? Burning oil is nasty smelling stuff! How much did you lose before you noticed?

My new motor did the long crank when it was installed.. it was a bad cam sensor, hahaha... new motor with a bad cam sensor. Once they replaced the sensor it has fired up like it should... I love my car, I think I suffer from beaten wife syndrome, but it has definitely been wearing on me..

When the long block was replaced in my 12 Boss302, one of the Cam phasers was defective as well. They replaced it and everything was golden. Hard to imagine a new motor having defective parts, but guess they can't really do a lot (or any) testing of them @ the factory post assembly?

I get it, that's the only thing that's kept me sane through this whole process.. ya, they replaced the cam phaser, and now it's running the way it should've all along.. these cars are extremely fast.. I've been driving it since I got it with the traction on. And now I'm getting more comfortable in the car, I started taking it off.... hahahahaha.. the tires just light up on FIRE!!!! Its kinda amazing how well the traction works, the car just claws it's way around.

If you get a chance, get it on a track (road course) and you'll really find out how great it is....and it's blast to do.

I was very careful about breaking in my engine, ran it at varying RPMS keeping it below 4000 RPMS for the first 1000 miles. Did oil change at 1500 miles. Kept it under 6000 RPMS until it reached 2000 miles. Constantly checking oil level. Next oil change I did at 4200 miles. When I hit about 6000 miles the car started using oil. Did another oil change at 7200 miles. At 9000 miles took it in for the oil consumption test. Results where 400 miles it used 3 quarts of oil.

So they have now replaced it and I am starting this process all over. The dealership reported that the cylinder walls were scored. Disappointed with Ford and the dealership. It took them 27 days to get it replaced. The rental they gave me was a Ford Escape, considering how much I paid for the GT350 I thought that they should have given me a Explorer or a F150. When asked, the Ford Motor Company would not offer any compensation for my time and money spent. They also would not replace the CATs that now have had excessive oil run through them.

Starting to think about getting away from FORD, this is clearly on them. Have talked with several dealerships about the GT350 and they have told me that there has been quite a few of these cars that have had there engines replaced.

Sounds exactly like what mine did, and then exactly how little they gave af to make it right. In the end they did tack on an extended warranty, but it was too late.

I'm a mustang guy at heart, but it went against every grain of my being to reward them with another purchase. I now drive a camaro...
