You can say the same thing about the Miata or fist or e30 m3 or any number of light vehicles. It does change characteristics, however top cars will have greater handling numbers than his r and demon!
Sure but once you put the magazines down and drive a ton of varitey on track cars like the type R make perfect sense, its just ugly AF

Do you really think Ford is going to price this car below mid 80s loaded? Add tax, ADM, you are looking at EASILY 100K out the door year one.

Yes, it makes zero sense to be so far in price above their competition. Look for it to be loaded for about 74-76k.

Sucks when a HUGE car reveal is spoiled with shitty cell phone pics like this...really feel bad for all of the people and plans Ford had that have now been spoiled. That being said, the car looks cool. It's not OMG, WOW!!!! And I think that's because the GT350R had that effect on all of us years ago and now we are sort of used to this design.

The front feels like a huge miss. Simply because the racing stripes are broken up by way too much black. Looks more like an Audi front end than a Mustang.

Love the back spoiler.

Not digging the white stripe along the side of the car. Felt the GT350R's side just looks much sleeker and cleaner and somehow that sticker (albeit a GT500 tradition) just feels off here and tacked on just so differentiate the car vs it enhancing the looks.

Also the wheels look exactly the same as the GT350R's. They couldn't design a new pattern, really?

Overall, it is what we thought it would be. A beefed up GT350 with more power, more weight...and....WAY MORE MSRP coming soon! This will be 100K to get out the door.

The reveal isn't spoiled. There are still plenty of people who haven't seen this yet and won't see it until the official reveal. I was watching some videos over the weekend and noticed that the front does actually resemble a '17 Audi A8. The wheels do not look exactly the same as the R's. From what I can tell in the pics, the spokes aren't the same. If it really is "just a beefed up GT350", that's still not necessarily a bad thing. I'm confident that it's more than that, though.

Whats this gayness Im hearing about a 4 door mustang in the works? I guess since they killed off all their other car lineup they had no choice. Its becoming increasingly likely that I will no longer be a Ford guy moving forward. I know, I know, you guys and Ford are all devastated at this news. LOL

I head that as well. I hope it’s not true. Bring back Crown Vic or make a good looking four door car and use the Falcon, or Galaxie name plate. Coyote RWD

If you paint the bumper to match the paint, or go black, and delete the grill this will look pretty good.

News travels very fast on the Net. Anyone interested in the new GT-500 will likely have seen/will see the leaked reveal photo. Ask Nick what he thinks about the leaked reveal.

This past Wednesday (10/17/2018) I was leaving Vegas and was at the airport around 12:30pm when I ran into a ton of Ford folks from this event. I believe the event was called "Inside the Oval" or something like that. Anyways, as I'm standing in the TSA line, I chat up a couple guys from Ford who still had on their event tags. They confirmed that they just saw the car literally an hour or so ago - both stated that the car was ridiculously loud. When asked for details, they didn't give up too much at all. I took it that they weren't being coy, but rather that they didn't have much real information on the car. When asked about HP/TQ numbers, they both responded "more than 700". They then switched conversation to the new Explorer and were raving about it. When I went back to the GT500 topic, they said they really didn't get much information at all from the event.

Later, in the airport, I went to Wendy's and chatted up another guy from Ford (he had a Mustang backpack and Ford blue oval lapel pin) and he confirmed that he was also at the event and had just seen and heard the new GT500. Again, not much details, but he also stated more than 700HP. When asked about release date, official information release date, engine, DCT, manual, etc. etc. he seemed to get annoyed with me and said that he didn't have any other information to share.

Sorry for no new information, but thought I would share my recent experience.

And yet I’d rather have the c5/c6z06 or GT3 with the same 3100lbs.

Were you dropped as a child? Demon SMOKES the Z06 and GT3 in a straight line. Type R is more fun than both in the twisties. Why do you even care what I drive/own? I could buy whatever I want and choose a Demon/Type R and I am happy as ****...you're the unhappy one constantly crying about my purchases.

The competition is the Red Eye. How much is that fully loaded? Why do you think Ford has kept delaying this car? It's not to top what Chevy has...it's to top what Dodge keeps doing. And I'll save you time...a fully loaded Red Eye is 86K.
